I mainly prefer Electric locos, British and European BR 86, 87, 90, 91, 92 DB 103, 110, 111, 120, 181 OBB 1X42, 1x44 (not SHG), 1116, 1216, SNCF 65xx, 72xx, 222xx, CFR EA 40, CSD 150/350, 371, 242, and some of the diesels What are you favourites? Peter
Anything with a casual mode. (And a relatively lo-fi model so that I can enjoy smooth frame rates.) I like to mix it up - it's more interesting to have a good variety. I only dabbled with steam but hopefully the auto fireman makes it more lucrative to me over time. Nerd way to present it - Not all of my pictures are tagged and some old sets need pruning, but this is relatively representative. One pic by class, on by livery.
This year are my favorite top 5, based on driven distance: 1. DB BR628 (Diesel) 2. Class 221 Voyager 3. DB BR193 Vectron 4. Stadler Flirt 5. Class 158 Here my complete chart for this year:
Steam, particularly the ones that have the sounds upgraded by Steam Sounds Supreme. I drove JT Manor Class the other day with the SSS sounds upgrade and it was brilliant. SmokeBox Big Boy and the BMG steam locos are always good to drive once you have mastered them.
It really depends for me, my favorites are probably PLD steam engines and the Searchlight SD40-2s (I'm sure that'll come as a massive shock to anyone who's seen my scenarios lol.) I also really like (though I haven't played them recently) the k-trains czech engines and simexpress' French locomotives, they're all excellent.
I enjoy operating all Northeast passenger rolling stock - Metro North Railroad (my favorite) - Long Island Railroad - New Jersey Transit - Amtrak
I'm more of a multiple unit driver personally - Pretty much anything UK as their signalling and safety systems are the closest to my home rail network in Queensland, Australia, but do dabble in European and US at times too Here's my favs: UK EMU 421/422/423, 375/377. 444/450 350 360 UK DMU 101 150 158 UK Steam loco Anything GWR Black 5 UK Diesel 37 47 57 66 UK Electric loco 86/87 US: sd70ace GP40 GP38-2 GP9 F7 Germany DB BR 612 DB BR 440 Rest of the world Anything Swiss and Japanese
My favourite UK locos/Emu's/Dmu's to drive: 10) Class 101, 105, 118 9) Class 35 8) Class 158 7) Class 40 6) Class 185 5) Class 321 4) Class 90 3) Class 800's 2) Class 43 1) Class 37
For me it is the proper workhorses. Class 86,87 are my go to trains just love them as childhood memories. If it’s local stuff then a 455,156.
Anything Expert Line from Virtual Railroads, K-Trains Vectron, SHG stuff is all great and some stuff from Christrains and Railtraction. on the english side I like the ATS Class 185, the London Underground trains from JT and anything from AP.
Mainly steam locos, only Bossman, Smokebox, Victory works, Meshtools and so on. English and American routes. My current favorites: Weardale and Teesdale Rail Network, Woodhead Line, GEML London Ipswich, Union Pacific's Wasatch Grade, Maria Pass and so on. Richard.
