when do you guys think BR 218 and cargo line vol 2 aggregates will be released? and what do you guys think about the 4-6 months section of the roadmap, do you guys think it will be accomplished before the (very likely) release of tsw5? (excluding that "UK route" and that "DE loco")

I think everything in the 4-6 month section is likely to come to TSW 4 but IF TSW 5 is a thing that UK route maybe the last route we get for this version. (Unless something small gets added in the next roadmap)

My guess is therefore that the 218 of DB AG already looks very advanced, I would say quite roughly that it will come in about 1-2 weeks/

I honestly wish this were true because I (like many here) am tired of one game launch a year promising the features already promised in the previous game and without substantial new features.

I’d be surprised if it wasn’t tbh, yearly releases seems to be the track we’re going down

Yes, I understand that something that is annoying/but the future is uncertain alone because we have editor here and because formation designer, both are still in a beta and that has to be completed first/just like the community projects, the long, the PCE editor are created and then to do that to the level of, for example, tsw5 would only be exhausting. Annoying.

Yes, but I can't say anything exactly about that

And yes, every year is annoying, but DTG still has a lot to do here in tsw4.

Yes, I know we have editor and formation designer (both in beta stage) but I don't think that would be an impediment to dtg releasing the tsw5

Distortion I was just distracted/no, so I wanted to say if we don't have the things to a full extent yet, a fifth generation of the game won't come. The entire community projects alone that we will get is also such an indication that we are far from getting a new game variant.

TSW 5 is Not Announced*, only DTG know the plans. :)

Well, I think both will come in the next few months as indicated.

To be honest, the 4-6 months category is very empty. If not even the releases who would be in that category not come with TSW4, we would have months of "nothing". I don't think this will happen.

The BR 101 and Simtrack DE loco as well as the San Bernadino and UK route (and third party wise the unknown Just Trains route and Tadami Line) high probably will come in TSW4 times.

However, these "emptiness" of the roadmap categories until TSW5 launches is rather the thing which concerns me. The worst thing for my personal interest, we will have no new german/austrian/swiss route for a long time now.

Why 218 is in the addons list and not in partner releases? Is this loco from DTG itself with a 2nd party help. Unlike expert 101 which is in correct location.

I suspect the emptiness of the 4-6 month section is simply DTG trying to keep the summer release a surprise. 4 months from April is August, which is when the summer release is announced. DTG can always add new projects in upcoming roadmaps

It could be a mistake, but it could be a "developed by TSG for Dovetail" release like the original BR 101 was.

I thought the 0-3 and 4-6 months counted from the month in which the first roadmap for 2024 came out (which in this case was February)
It makes more sense, doesn't it?

I'd say the 218 will come out in June/July Tbh

Oh. Does it? I assumed it counted from each roadmap article. Here is the October Roadmap
    upload_2024-4-23_12-14-11.png
And then the one from February (4 months later)
    upload_2024-4-23_12-15-49.png

Looking at the 4-6 month section of October:
    - The US route (San Bernadino Line) appears to have been delayed.
    - The UK route appears to be the London Overground line which was moved appropriately in the February roadmap.
    - The German route appears to be Salzburg-Rosenheim which was moved accordingly in the February roadmap.
    - Rivet's UK route appears to be Fife Circle, and was moved accordingly in February
    - The New partner's loco pack appears to be Simtrack Studio's Peak Forest Expansion and was moved accordingly.
    - Editor V2 is... just... gone?

Looking at the 6+ month section of October:
    - The Austrian route (probably Semmeringbahn) has jumped ahead in the February roadmap.
    - I can't keep track of everything else - it appears to be changing significantly.

I appreciate that your point was that the timeline was from February, not October, but I find it strange to think that they would move all the projects from October to February, and then stop moving them in the new year. I would have liked to compare April's Roadmap to February's, but since they are only 2 months apart, and not much information has been revealed, we will have to wait another 2 months. I hope you understand.

    Thank you.

The roadmaps have a rolling time frame. It’s always counted from that roadmap’s date.
