    So, just bought WCML Birmingham - Crewe and want to install the addon on my xbox one s but since its gen 9 exclusive what would happen?

    I’m surprised they let you buy it. When I was on Gen 8 Xbox, if you went to a Gen 9 only game, you would get a message that it is not playable on this machine and the purchase link would not be active.

    If you bought it another way (e.g. on a Gen 9 machine) then the answer is that you cannot install it on the Gen 8 (and why would you want to?).

    I asked BBC Verify to look into this and their reply was;

    "We're not sure what would happen but if it doesn't work then it is probably Donald Trump's fault".
