I really wish there will be update focused on fixing speed signs on all routes. I still cant understand, why developer put so much resources to make maps with nice details, beautiful scenery, big train stations, cities, etc, but when there is some missing signs, or just signs with wrong number on them, these will never be fixed. Many of missing signs are in Maintalbahn, Semmeringbahn, Linke Rheinstrecke, wrong/missing signs are in Bernina Line, Tharandter rampce, etc. Fixing these really should not be hard, and it can make the game so much better.
Now I want a single update that will fix the texture blurring and game crashes to the PS5 console menu,
What better hardware? I don't understand. The game is designed for the PS5 console. So I assume that the software designed for the PS5 will work.
Indeed. Many of the issues are present on PS5 as well as PC like stuttering and sound squelching. Since TSW5 came out there seem to have been precious little in the way of fixes or upgrades to the core - like getting us more than one save slot. In fact one has to start wondering if there are actually any programmers at all currently employed at DTG, given TSC also seems to have been abandoned.
They’re there, but their time is being wasted on gimmicks like route hopping. TSW has become particularly rough on PS5 since TSW5, but I have little hope for any fixes. Look at the state of Xbox, it’s gimped by sounds, textures, Z fighting & even after that, the series X has to suffer from a degraded experience thanks to sharing the S build. It’s 99% content development & 1% maintenance with DTG. The irony being that they’re increasingly dropping the content before it’s even finished development.
The thing I find most frustrating is the lack of features in the core game requiring developers to redevelop for individual routes for instance neutral sections; we had them on the E&G working well when the route was released, then totally broken after an update. I tried a Class 801 on E&G and it did not register as crossing any of those neutral sections. Neutral sections are now disabled on the E&G and they were totally omitted from WCML Euston to Milton Keynes which will be felt when taking the lovely new Class 87 along that route. Safety systems should be part of the core game so that they don't have to get redeveloped or omitted from add-ons, and developers can have more time to work on the individual features of routes like they do in Train Simulator Classic; it was nice seeing the APT-P VCB working on WCML South in Train Simulator Classic. In regards to signage and speed limits again I feel there is a need to allow the community to submit patches for review and integration. Mod's can be nice but they are excluded from the consoles which offer more a more affordable experience than PC's for some and it would be nice not to have a console penalty.
Don't bite!!!! Getting better hardware won't solve a softwear problem, that is down to DTG to resolve. Just keep raising support tickets.
TSW is too intense for consoles, it was never meant to be a console game. it suits PCs better by a mile.
I would like to see a fix in the passenger behavior system. They don't get on or off a train in many routes or if they do get on, they all get off at the next station after the terminal which isn't realistic. I remember playing the conductor mode in wcml yet the entire train was empty during peak times for the whole trip.
In fact TSW was always ment to be a console game, I can't remember the thread it was in but Matt P himself said the main reasons for them creating the fishing Sim was to get experience of the unreal game engine and dealing with the Xbox platform, [EDIT - Jan - Quarrelsome]
no need to research for that cus clearly consoles can't keep up with TSW nowadays with the blurred textures etc... I never implied that I have a source, mate. I observe with my own eyes.
Take a chill pill and get off the forums for a while if it's bothering you that much. Or drop the attitude and stay.
Good morning folks, this is your regular reminder to please keep conversations on this forum civil and on topic, no need for these potshots. All the best, Jan
Sorry you are mistaken Myron. Here is the quote from Matt in the summer. It was always designed console first. But I do agree in it current state it doesn't seem to be.
9th Gen consoles can keep up with games much more demanding than TSW. Look at how well FS2020 works on Series X as a perfect example. The issue is DTG rushing their work and not having a great idea on how to optimize their games and DLC. If they spent a fraction of the time they put into marketing gimmicks, broken new features (like doing guard mode before passengers even work properly) and their annual release cycle into QC and bug fixing we wouldn't have as many of these ongoing issues. And it's not like the PC version of the game performs flawlessly either.
