Have you ever driven fuzzy consists in TSC just for cruising or make screenshots? This photo has moved my imagination: In this picture we see a German charter train hauled by a private German freight loco. The coaches belong to a domestic tour operator. These coaches are former DB seaters, berth, sleepers, restaurants (some rebuilt as travelling discoteque) and vans. They have a distinguishable livery indeed, with a darker tone of liver red, like Italian FS UIC-X carriages wore from 80s to 2000s. I searched for DLCs and I found a coach: it's an old repaint without any possibility to have any sound audible, as Armstrong Powerhouse doesn't sell anymore the needed sound pack. So I continued to search for a solution and I found another DLC about a German-manufactured coach by a former GDR supplier. I applied some scientific criteria for the candidate conisist: - It must be chromatic coherent for the era; - It must be formed by loco and coaches coherent for the era; - Loco and coaches must fulfill real regulations, according to their digital and lecteral marking (i.e. the coaches must be allowed to travel cross-border, they also must have universal heating equipment, the loco must be able to lead passenger trains despite the usual freight service, etc.)... ... and here is the result: an hypothetical charter train of Romanian enthusiasts hauled by a multi-system freight loco: Both loco and cars are sell on commercial websites: The 189 is made by Virtual Railroads, here in Expert Version. Detail of the coaches: they are made by Train-Motion and are available on its e-commerce site with a PayPal-driven donation of any money you want to give to developers. Take it as is: a funny experiment. Post yours.
What if the Acela Express actually pulled freight? It would definitely be a fast way to get freight across the East Coast of the USA. Thanks for making this thread. Whenever I think of a funny idea for a consist / train I will definitely post it here.
German PmG (Passengerzug mit Gueterwagen, Passenger train with goods wagons), inspired by Italian 1980 early morning regional train from Rome to Naples. The loco I've chosen is a BR 141 (Virtual Railroads), a 120 km/h-capable engine with electrical heating and door locking control panel. 1x UIC-X van (Virtual Railroads) 2x Schnellzugwagen (Virtual Railroads), second class. 2x MDy auxiliary vans (Virtual Railroads) 8x "Gos" boxcars (Part of the BR 50 Reko bundle by The Forge Simulations)
A while back I create a screwball consist purely for screenshot purposes. Seen below is a long passenger train, fronted by a freeware Wayside Works Manning Wardle K class 0-6-0T. Directly behind the K is a wagon of coal to supplement the loco's meager bunker. Behind that is a tank wagon filled with water, just in case. The coaches follow, ten or so if memory serves. It's seen on GAD's freeware West of England Mainline route. Officially, this image captures a run in progress. Unofficially, I placed the train where we see it, since there is no way in the world that the K can actually move a consist so long and heavy. In fact, I had to abandon my first capture attempt. Once the game loaded, the train immediately began rolling backwards. I slammed on the loco handbrake as soon as I could. (The K has no train/loco brake.) The train continued to roll backwards. (The station is, obviously, on a mild slope.) Knowing what to expect, on my second attempt I immediately applied the consist's brakes, then the loco handbrake. Success: (This image was originally posted in our Screenshot thread.)
Sometimes reality overtakes imagination: what if a foreign first-gen electronic loco leading a DB service? This photo, taken in 2021, shows the IC 119 Dortmund-Innsbruck in Austrian territory without the usual 101, replaced by a 1144 OEBB: Should I pass over this? Of course, no! Loco by Skyhook Games (Steam DLC), coaches by 3DZUG's Intercity Mod. The only difference by original consist: i had to replace the Eurofima control car with a normal carriage, as there is a scripting conflict and 1144 remains stuck.
Although not the best, you could've replaced the Steuerwagen with the non-working one from Berlin - Leipzig, as it acts like a normal coach ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What if Class 455s ran on the District Line and you could photograph them from the end of your posh garden in Kew, on a drizzly summer's morning
ITS THE GHOST TRAIN!!!! This is such a funny glitch whenever this happens, I always laugh and imagine that it is some type of haunted train passing by just like the "ghost trains" from Thomas the Tank Engine!
What if 2 Class 37s hauled a 17 coach Railtour over the ECML Answer: They can if you have a spare 3 hours to climb the 1:300 or steeper grades
One of my many what if scenarios... A TransPennine Express Class 802 is seen at Hereford on the Welsh Marches route after arriving in on a GWR service from London Paddington.
What if a delivery of revamped carriages? The road from Goerlitz to Podgorica (Montenegro) is long indeed... This 155 is hauling the train in the first leg of this journey. As usual, a close look to the carriages: payware DLC by Rail Studio Romania, bought on sale on their website:
What if the Germans would Two German BR41 pulling 1000t of Coal on Clinchfield Locos are by The Forge Simulation and the Wagons are 3Dzug Facns
What if Freightliner Hired 2 Merchant Navy Locos to haul 4K83 Garston to Crewe Containers I Figured out why, They stalled on the climb out of Runcorn lol Locos are BMG Merchant Navy Class, Coach is AP Mk1 BSK and Wagons are AP FSA and FTA Wagons
