As I'm not the person to report every crash I encounter during playing on the forums (laziness) I count on the crash reports they get from Sony. But does DTG get the full picture? I'm having a problem when I restarted the Dresden Journey. I'm suspecting this has something to do with DLC I bought in the sale and is now layered in Dresden but does DTG get a list of all the DLC that is installed when I send a crash report via Sony?
I report every crash through the PS5 and also wonder what gets through to DTG. I don’t fancy writing out a report for every crash at the moment as they are so frequent, so the one click report is all that I do. I know that might not help as much as a report on the timetable page or a separate bug report via support or on the tech reports forum (a lot of the crashes I get are while playing on foot so the timetable report page isn’t obvious for those) but I find they take up too much of my time.
We get a screenshot at the moment of crash, and the usual type of crash "mini dump" which gives us something called a "stack trace" showing what the game was doing in the code at the moment it went bang, plus we get limited logs (we don't do much logging at all on a release version of the game for performance reasons). The memory dump and screenshot though are usually enough to help us classify and then try to reproduce.
Ahh ok Do you not get a video then Matt as they usually upload a short video with the report to Sony? Regards Hentis
I came looking for this same answer - was surprised to see a thread already in existence. I was under the impression that a video was taken shortly before the crash as a visual of what was occurring before the crash happened. Is that for Sony’s benefit then?
Maybe there is - i've certainly only seen a screenshot but then I don't access the backend directly, just what someone shows me
