What Is Auto Load Journeys?

Also how do I get the game to stop throwing me into scenarios every time I want to play it

 

That's what Auto-Load Journeys is. When you boot up the game and pick a route, it'll load up the next journey mode scenario/timetable you need to complete. Switch it off and the game won't automatically put you into journey mode.

Do note that this doesn't stop route introductions when you pick a route for the first time though.
