What Is Minimal About Our Min Hud ?

Surely we don't need
IN CAPITAL LETTERS
the instruction
STOP AT LOCATION

We have two symbols for two messages

Circle with horizontal bar : stop
Circle with vertical bar: go via

It's called the minimal hud because it is all at the top of the screen, and doesn't take up a lot of screen space.

 

Would be nice if we had a transparency option, or the ability to move the HUD to a different part of the screen.

 

It already goes transparent sometimes, but that's a bug.

 

You can turn off different things like the speed for example. Or you can play hudless if it's not minimal enough

It's called "Minimal HUD" because it's in comparison to the standard HUD, a minimalistic version of it.

Generally, I disagree on that point. The little circles with the bars into them are very hard to read and distinguish sometimes and are not as good as a complete substitution. The wording "STOP at X" or "GO Via Y" should not be vanished, but maybe there is a better way to optimize the visibility or screen space though.

 

Or vanishes altogether if you load a saved run from taking over a new train in the previous session! Also a known bug, filed away and forgotten.

 

I do wish we could turn off more things like the gradient and “STOP AT LOCATION” but I like it a lot better than the original HUD
