I've been wondering for a while now, what is the voice in the ICE 3 saying when you start up the train,put on the full brake,turn on the parking brake & opening the doors?
Don't know what you mean, after turning the reverser to forward, you'll hear "Störung, Störung, Zugbeeinflussung, ? gesperrt, ? gesperrt", by openining the doors, you will hear "Türen geöffnet". Störung means something like disorder, something don't operates as expected, Zugbeeinflussung is PZB/LZB (You aren't able to turn it of in reality) "Türen geöffnet" just means 'doors opened,
And "WB gesperrt" means the eddy brakes are locked and not usable. WB stands for "Wirbelstrombremse".
They are electromagnetic brakes. These brakes use a swirling magnetic field to brake. Storung means failure. If the message "Storung" sounds while running, some train system has failed. There is a "Storung" button on the monitor. This button would show you what the fault is.
Well, it is a dynamic brake, but not the dynamic brake if you‘re thinking of North American trains. As I‘m sure you know, that one is called elektrische Bremse or E-Bremse in German while we‘re talking about the Wirbelstrombremse. Just wanted to clarify that for anyone reading this.
