    Hi all

Can anyone confirm what routes are needed for layers to be active please and how do you activate when you have them?

You need all of the preserve german DLC, and they activate automatically when you have them installed

Well it depends on what route you're talking about specifically. Some have extra timetable services and some dont. The routes that do have extra timetable services use a layering system depending on what DLC you currently have installed.

I'm going to assume you want to find out about the layers on the newest route, Haupstrecke Munich - Augsburg. This one essentially has 4 layers.

1 - the base layer that comes when you purchase the route. This includes the BR 423 and the BR 403 'ICE3'. Just this alone has ~328 individual services
2 - MSB / Main Spessart Bahn. This makes use of the Dostos and uses them on RE and RB services. This also uses the BR 185 for mixed freight services
3 - RRO / Rhein-Ruhr Osten. This provides the MRCE BR 185.5 just for container wagons services
4 - HHR / Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr. Lastly, this uses the BR 425 for RB services

You don't have to do anything to have them activated, they will simply be already there once you have either one of those routes installed.

On consoles the extra layers are not supposed to be there, but you can bypass the restriction by playing the first mission on Chapter 3 on the journey mode and quitting the mission right away.
With all the routes/layers installed, you can have access of upwards of 400+ services on this route. This can potentially impact performance however, so keep that in mind. I hope this helps :)

5 - RSN / Ruhr Sieg Nord add the DB BR 143 (passenger and freight services) and the DB BR 155 (freight only) locos (no addictional services)
6 - RT / Rapid Transit add the DB BR 182 for freight services only (no addictional services)

note: the DB BR 185.5 MRCE engine looks totally broken.
