I think that's Godley Junction. There was a CLC branch from here towards Stockport, and the junction station was built accordingly. Note that the disused platforms have four faces, ie. on the sides facing away from the present track as well as towards it. Later, as the branch was closed, the junction station was closed in favour of a new station closer to Godley village.
I was on a train which stopped at Godley Junction once. It was long after it closed. As the train approached the station the Driver noticed there was a boy stood on the platform. He saw him in time to stop the train, and, slightly surprisingly, the boy did not run away (perhaps he didn’t know he wasn’t supposed to be there). The Driver told him to get in the cab, which he did, and dropped him off at Godley. Here’s the station in 1953, with the Stockport line still operational. Note that both routes are electrified, although on the route to Stockport the wires only went far enough to enable the electric loco which brought the train over the Pennines to be swapped for a steam or diesel loco for the journey on to Stockport and beyond.
