So on Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg if I go to the timetable there is the Doppelstockwagen called "766.2 DBpbzfa DB" with the option "Q" which is typically for liveries right? After I press q there are 4 Doppelstockwagen which look pretty similar but only 2 of them I don't understand: 1. 766.2 DBpbzfa DB: I understand this the VVO from Dresden 2. 767.2 DABpbzfa DB: look exactly like nr. 4 3. 766.2 DBpbzfa DB: is the same as nr. 1 but without VVO logos 4. 767.2 DABpbzfa DB: look exactly like nr. 2
i believe they are the four Steuerwagen's (driving trailers) that have come with the different routes you have, Like the BR442, aka the hamster...(due to it's 'cheek pouches' behind the buffers) has loads of versions, as every German route seems to be released with one, But especially with the hamster, there are some which are nice to drive, and some which have so many faults and broken things it's not worth bothering with them. But without the mod that tells the versions apart, it's hard to choose the good one over the bad one... and perhaps one person's good version is another person's bad version? (tho i could guess that a rivet version universally falls into the latter category) Maybe we could get a list of which versions of the multiple 'same loco/train' are the best, and why? ************************** i haven't got the mod to tell them apart yet, as most of my time atm is taken up faffing about with my controller build than playing on the game, but i am going to have to find a way to tell them apart easily soon, as i need to set the control mapping slightly differently between some of the versions (i.e. the BR423, there's 2 or 3 versions of that which shares the same raildriver controls, then the one with SKA expansion pack has totally different raildriver control mapping) **************************
One way to tell them apart is the locomotive powering the consist. 1.) 146.2 143 Brake Selector 2.) DB BR 143 Ruhr Sieg Nord 3.) DB BR146.2 Main Spessart Bahn which lacks the Brake Selector but has LZB PZB Sifa 4.) DB BR182 Rapid Transit. In some situations, you get the Newer versions pulling older Dostos. Mostly Ruhr Sieg Nord
The difference, IRL, between a DBpbzfa and a DABpbzfa is the "A"- a DB Dosto is all 2nd class; a DAB is a mixed 1st/2nd. (D- Doppelstockwagen, double-decker coach (Dosto) A, B - class of seating p - air conditioned b - handicapped access z - powered from a bus bar (as opposed to axle generators) f - Führerstand, driving position (cab car) a- automatic doors)
Is there a list anywhere that goes through the different versions of the same trains in TSW2, and what the differences are? so you can figure out which version of the trains that you have multiples of from the different routes are the best ones to choose. Or is it a case of try each one out yourself, as what one person thinks breaks a train so bad they can never drive it is a minor annoyance / not even noticed by someone else.
IN GENERAL, THE NEWEST VERSION OF A PIECE OF ROLLING STOCK IS THE BEST. WITH GERMAN STUFF, THE DRA VERSIONS ARE UNQUESTIONABLY IMPROVED. IF YOU NEED TO TELL THEM APART, THERE IS A MOD: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...tches/i1020-origin-dlc-markings-on-train-logo (sorry about caps: damn lock key)
Got the mod to tell them apart at last, turns out i have 6 Steuerwagens / dosto control cars between the 766.2 and 767.2 versions. It seems that where available, the Tharandter Rampe versions are selected normally for me, and the others accessed by pressing Q. Which route is DRA... is it Dresden - ReisA? aka Nahverkehr Dresden? i now need a list of which routes have which abbreviations, most i can work out but some aren't that easy for me. i've also noticed that what is used in the list of RailDriver controls is different to how some people abbreviate the route... i.e. KAH is also known as SKA in some places... i know that one is SchnellFahrStrecke Köln - Aachen.
Seems like at least this time someone anticipated your needs.. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/guide-on-route-acronyms.56183/
RT: Rapid Transit (Leipzig S-Bahn) RSN: Ruhr-Sieg Nord (Hagen-Finnentrop) MSB: Main-Spessart Bahn (Aschaffenburg-Gemünden) RRO: Rhein-Ruhr Osten (Hagen-Wuppertal) HRR: Haupstrecke Rhein-Ruhr (Bochum-Duisberg) SKA/KAH: Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen HMA: Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg HBL/HBK/HLB: Hamburg-Lübeck DRA: "Nahverkehr Dresden" aka Dresden-Riesa DCZ/DRC/DRZ: "Tharandter Rampe" aka Dresden-Chemnitz
If only this was ture. Headlights worked perfectly fine on the older versions of the BR 767.2/766.2 and BR 442, on the newer DRA and DCZ versions you can't use the normal headlights anymore. Also only the super old BR 767.2 from RSN has a Fahrstufenanzeige on the MFD. The DRA and DCZ versions of the BR 143 have working GPR-brake selector and Anfahrbremse/Bremsüberbrückung switch (what is great), but why someone thought it a good idea to move the independet brake handle in a place where it (in released setting) almost completely blocks the view on the gauge for the brake cylinder pressure, I can't fathom.
