Stationary PC of course, I play not only TSW (now abandoned before the announcement of TSW6) , but also many other games (Battlefield 4, Horizon Zero Down, Mafia II: Joe's Adventures, Dead Island 2, Days Gone - i'm currently walkthrough)
PS5 Pro and PC, it plays far better on the PC, but I probably play more on PS5. I don’t seem to get the crashes a texture issues as badly as some do. Loading time is the worst thing for me, I can go away and cook dinner while it loads with all my DLC installed (and I don’t have everything).
I have similar experiences on PS5 too. When Kinzigtalbahn came out and you had downloaded all routes I had crashes when I strolled at Frankfurt Hbf for railfanning. After the first bigger update I didn't had crashes there.
PC only ( with Raildriver ). Toyed with the idea of getting a PS5 just so I can play on the sofa with a big screen, but I might have problems with dexterity on the controller.
I mean, even if RailDriver was supported on consoles it seems a bit silly to switch platforms when the simpler idea would be to just hook up your PC to the TV.
It's been played by me on the xbone from the start of the life of the franchise, always on the most powerful version of the xbone available at any given time.......
Easier said than done. Besides I need the PC in the office for other things and the laptop doesn't have the specs.
For TSW, no, not to performance, but I rarely get any crashes and I’ve only ever seen blurry textures on Mildmay. But that was after playing other routes. If I go straight in, it works fine. My theory (based on no knowledge at all) is that because I nearly always go in, do one run or scenario and then close TSW again, if there is a memory leak causing issues, then it’s not getting enough time to cause a problem with one service. I did’t have many issues on my old PS5 either, but never played TSW5 or any of the new routes on that. TLDR : Don’t buy a pro for TSW, it hardly makes a difference, if at all. (Does make a difference on GT7 though which was my reason for buying it)
As of voting I find it crazy that even on a forum (which likely has way more PC users on it compared to console users) Console is still matching the amount of PC users. 53 Console - 52 PC. I find that kind of crazy.
I went from PS5 to PS5 Pro for TSW. I should have got me one of those development consoles DTG has that nothing goes wrong on, wasted my money on a Pro.
Most gaming is on PS5 Pro, I did get a high end PC last year but having spent so much on TSC content I can't really justify re-buying everything for TSW as well, although I have picked up some routes when heavily discounted.
If I actually defined time spent with TSW on PC vs. PS5 though, PC in excess of three or four hours a week (subject to whatever else I’m playing) whereas PS5 around about an hour total. So very much secondary.
Ha! no was a desk ornament, its been moved now (was an old pic from a year ago) as I have the thrustmaster airbus sidestick in its place now.. thankfully I have an understanding wife! lol
I really like the look of that set up you have there. I took a gander at the website and I was wonder do some of these rigs come with a monitor included? The information on the products are a little vague or next to nothing (no info). I’m looking for an upgrade for ETS2, Gran Turismo 7 and Assetto Corsa mainly. Thanks.
Didnt think they offered monitors, Mine didnt and had no options but I got my rig 3 years ago (but I live down is Australia so unsure on euro/Britain options)
I’m not sure as there is no product description. I’m just going by the picture. I think it’s really good deal if they include a monitor, I mean alone a curved widescreen monitor would set you back a few hundred quid at least. I think my rig that I bought about 4 years ago was around the £250 mark. I’m going to email them later to find out. My birthday is coming up soon, any cash will go towards this
PS5 (5 year old original model 700GB), and PS4 (8 year old original model 1TB) for TSW1. Obviously don’t play TSW1 anymore, but it’s still installed. I’ve always been a PlayStation player, I bought my PS5 for the exact reason of playing TSW2. PC is too complicated, a console is already set up. Simple. But I acknowledge PC’s benefits.
...I started my TSW gaming career in 2018 with a PS4 Pro, then switched to PC to see what additional graphics options were possible. The turning point for putting my main focus back on consoles was TSW2 with the Livery Designer tool. I noticed that it's much easier and more fun to paint trains with a controller while simultaneously using the PC or laptop monitor to display original photo templates or markings. I've also been a new PS5 Pro owner since Easter. Because it was on sale at an electronics store, and I also needed a second DualSense controller, I jumped at the chance. But mainly because the original PS5's 825GB storage fills up too quickly, and adding an additional SSD isn't exactly cheap. So, a 2TB SSD on the PS5 Pro is more than sufficient, and I'm currently testing PSSR. The mid-gen console is also smaller, lighter, and more compact, almost like a PS5 Slim, but it also gets a bit warmer than the standard PS5. BTW: TSW5 looks great on a 4K QLED TV, but even with a PS5 Pro, you can notice the FPS numbers drop in Frankfurt, and there are minor loading stutters during heavy traffic.
