Until recently I was having problems with jerky frame rates in TSW2 and TS Classic, until I got a bigger SSD on my PC and moved my "Documents" folder off my Samba server and back onto local SSD. Now it's smooth as can be. Where is TS/TSW2 caching files and can it be configured to always use local storage rather than default to the "Documents" system folder which may well be on a share and not super-low latency?
What store are you using, Epic or Steam? For me it's these locations: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 2\ C:\Users\******\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld2
Yes, Steam. The second location appears to be the problem. Ideally one could change a registry entry to move that to a local drive folder instead of having it linked to the system-defined folder which I'd prefer to have on my NAS.
You can't. I think you can relocate the Documents folder, but I do not really recommend that. The data TSW stores there is not so much (for me about 5 Mb), except for the TSW screenshots (Ctrl+F12) (currently 595Mb), which I never user. So why worry about that? You can tell steam to install your games at another drive though.
