The main route of the Boston-Worcester DLC (the Boston & Albany, or the B&A, to us locals) passes Fenway, between Back Bay and Lansdowne stations. As you travel outbound/westward, the stadium is on your left as you approach Lansdowne. From the cab you'll be in the "trench" with I90 (the Mass "Pike"), so you'll need to be in an external camera to get a good view of it. From Google Maps: And from one of my visits during COVID (back when they had cardboard cut-outs in the stands!), from the David Ortiz Bridge looking towards Back Bay.
Thank you. I’m a former Bostonian. Haven’t been back there since the late 60s. I love the Boston routes. Although I admit, I don’t recognize much of anything in there since it’s been so long since I’ve been back there. But I was at Fenway Park twice in my young days. Met Johnny P. once. (Board won’t let me write his name but I’m sure you know who I’m referring to.)
Not a problem! I used to go to Boston about once a year with my parents when I was growing up. We used to stay at a Howard Johnson's on the back side of Fenway; my dad got pretty good at learning where to park during game days to avoid getting a homer through the windshield lol. He used to take me for walks up to the overpass across the Pike to watch trains and get warm roasted peanuts from the carts outside the stadium. We'd also grab the Green Line at Kenmore and head to Gov't Center to grab food and shop at Quincy Market. The worst part of the trips was always the long drive from where we were living in Connecticut up to the Pike in Lee and the what seemed like hours long ride across Mass. Now, my wife and I usually take the Acela out to South Station about once a year and stay on the waterfront by Quincy Market, it makes for a very pleasant weekend getaway. Boston's changed a ton since I was a kid in the 90's, I can only imagine how much has changed since the 60's! At least the PCC cars are still running on the Mattapan Line! lol
