ok here i am back with another comparison this time its loco dlc's Only this time there will be a little more viarety
discuss which loco u think is better:
    Class 465
    Class 484
    Class 375 (liveried loco)
And last but not least, Class 700
Discuss, Me? 700 but i was actually considering the 465 lol

    AtherianKing Guest

I would say to class the 484 as a route dlc loco which means every route/train in the game enters this question if the 484 is included

personally the best loco dlc goes to the 465 of this list (I can’t recall every loco dlc to date tbh) but I think that and the 700 stand out strong but the 465 was the one that made a bit more of a positive impression (it’s a bit of a shame theirs not many places to operate services with it)

    Class 700.
Love the sound, the design, the way it drives. It’s great.
I just wish we had more routes to drive it on.
SEHS or 6 minute services on the ECML. Not good enough.

For the UK got to be the Class 31. Sound and physics spot on. Runner up the Class 40.
Germany a tie between the G6 (only marred by the seemingly unfixable timetable bugs) and the Vectron.
USA not really a DLC but the Clinchfield F7 does it for me, closely followed by the MP15.

From that list the 465 followed by the 700. Both really good & detailed. 465 gets the edge for having more accurate sounds but the 700 is just as good if not better in other aspects.

The 465, because it has the most variety on SEHS compared to the 700 which stops at all stations.

How can the 700 be seriously considered when it is using Class 350 sounds and not those of the real prototype?

The PIS on AI 700s work compared to the AI465, 375 and Javelin.

For the UK, the Class101, closely followed by the Class 31.
For NA, the GP9rm, followed by the Acela.

Because the 700 is still has desiro sounds and doesn’t sound totally inaccurate. The pitch is wrong at 28mph+ but besides that the AC sounds & low speed DC sounds are accurate. The model is excellent, the cab functionality is good and all the other sounds such as door sounds, buttons, power controller etc are good

And poorly mixed with audible loop at that.

Still not sure what the purpose of these "What's your favourite..." surveys is. What use is the result for the OP?

And as it is tagged "Playstation" - is it only for PS users then?

Riding this train a lot, as it’s on my local line I have to say all the sounds are very well done.

All opinions are subjective but the Class 700 from the exterior and interior is very different to my ears than a 350

Surely a sarcastic post, it is absolutely not accurate and nothing more than a Class 350 recording

I honestly don’t know how you can make that comparsion. The 350 and 700 sound exactly the same to me. So it’s easy for you to think DTG just took the 350 sounds and used them.

Sorry, but that’s just speculation. You don’t know that for sure. Until you get word from a dev, then it’s not true.

It was mentioned verbally in one of the previews that the Class 350 was used for the sounds. Not trying to pick holes in things but to me the Class 350 sounds very different than the 700. Yes there are some similar aspects to the tones but overall the audio is different for sure.

Class 700's operate on my local route and in my honest opinion the 700's and 350's irl while not identical, they do sound very similar.

Loco DLC, would be the 40, then 31 and then the 33. The 33 would probably be top if we got a period route to run it on.

Ok number 1, cesb is right, Its not at all, its similar but not the same, And also If you go into the class 700 preview stream and go to 57:45-58:45 you will hear matt talking about amstrong powerhouse and the 350 sounds, and make sure to turn on Subtitles as you do but anyways he is the link:

Ok wow. Hook, line and sinker! I had no idea.
I will say, it doesn’t change my experience when using the Class 700 though, as I’ve never rode a 350 in real life. YouTube video’s can’t always replicate the actual sound of the train 100% accurately. After watching a couple of Class 350 videos though, I do hear some minor differences.

I’m saying this because I’m wrong. Wrong in the fact that I thought DTG used actually Class 700 sounds, and not the Class 350.

German BR101, even though it is still underused, unfortunately, even though it still runs EC/IC services in Germany to this day, although it was supposed to go out of service long ago :) but I run it whenever I can, very enjoyable loco

Wish it was available without buying the route it requires. I am not interested in the base route, but I would like to have the 101 on other routes.

you dont have to own its home route - I have bought that one only recently and been able to play the loco anyway - Koln Aachen, Bremen Oldenburg, Hamburg Lubeck, Dresden Riesa, also Kassel Wurzburg... on Koln Aachen and Kassel you can use its LZB capabilities :) ... might have forgotten some routes, cos it has gotten more layer use recently :) ... on Koln Aachen you even get to play it in sandwich config (tho you have to set up ZDS BR120 in both locos before starting, to get better acceleration and braking)

it's the same thing for a TGV réseau and duplex 200 the train are really similar but
the biggest thing is really different is the principal auxiliary is different and the compressor sounds and same for a lot of french locomotive in UK there too a lot of rolling stock with sounds really similar the 700 and 350 are similar in the sounds of the train and with a lot things similar but with different and the first static sounds, compressor and auxiliary principal

speaking of TGV Duplex, another train thats severely underused... it sorely needs a proper route with both TVM and KVB O:)

Considering LGV is apparently one of the most popular routes I’m surprised another fremch route doesn’t seem to be under consideration.

  44. Spikee1975

LGV didn't even survive the TSW World Cup's group stage and is among the least popular routes, 6 votes only. There's just nothing to do, one train, no layers and only three stations. Too short for a high speed route.

it was an enjoyable route and train, with the power change being the thing, and portiques :D ... I mean, yeah, it would greatly benefit from expanding, especially adding a KVB section or so :) ... but yeah you are mostly right... which is too bad cos the train itself is nice :)

    I mean, this <3

Yeah, the TGV is a fantastic train, and one of the best in the game.

It's a shame, because it is a nice and interesting area. Love the mediterranean feel it has. Would love a commuter route in the same area.

Really? I believed it is from the times when you needed the home route to use locomotive add-ons.

too bad we didnt really get any KVB action - the section between Marseille and the tunnel barely had any speed signs (you had to learn the meaning of each portique...)... and KVB even according to manual is supposed to also show speed values? not in the game atm :/
