I just don’t know which Maintalbahn route is better to buy: Aschaffenburg - Miltenberg or LGV Méditerranée?
First thing is that this an English speaking forum, so you’ll get more of a conversation posting in English. Second, they’re wildly different routes. If you like diesels, then the Maintalbahn is the way to go. For electrics it’s TGV. TGV offers only highspeed express services, whereas Maintalbahn is much slower paced stopping services. It also offers some shunting for freight. All preference on this one.
I recommend Maintalbahn, preferably if you have more existing German content the better as apart from the brand-new 642, you'll get the 628 and 612 (if you own these already, obviously) which adds a bit of DMU variety. Regarding freight, in addition to the 363 you'll have the G6 too sub in if you own that. Finally, you'll also get lots of different AI traffic at Aschaffenburg Hbf depending on how much existing content you own. While it's single track, I've actually really enjoy Maintalbahn as the services are a mix of slower and faster stopping patterns - the route is quite pretty in the snow too. Meanwhile, with LGV while the TGV is a great addition to TSW, the route itself is just one loco with a small amount of services. The route also feels completely empty and lifeless and gets very boring after a short-time. Overall, I would recommend Maintalbahn as it's much better value for money.
Neither. There are many much better routes as DLC for this game. Please describe what your interests are and why you picked these two routes for your choice. Then we can help you much better to choose a better one.
I haven’t bought Maintalbahn and unlikely to given the reviews. However I quite enjoy LGV for an occasional drive. The line is a real rollercoaster experience and you have to be on the lookout for the AC/DC (Thunderstruck!) changeover between the classic and high speed lines outside Marseille.
