I'm not talking about all the stuff people want fixed, but rather the things DTG have expressly told us is being worked on. (And I'm not talking about the long-delayed TSW2 patches)

With the release of Boston's revised signaling (Big hand for Brandon!), what is still in the chute?

    SoS: AI SPAD issue
    SoS: Steam physics
Edin-Glas: big patch promised by Rivet
    NY-T: first band-aid

    Anything else?

    Always look at the Roadmap:
    • Add-ons Manager
    • Red light / Dispatcher issues (on a case-by-case basis)
    • Save game issues (on a case-by-case basis)
    • Achievements and scenarios that are incompletable

I think you can include the Special Projects and Core features from the last road map. The biggest being the DLC manager for the PS5 players.

Addons manager. Huge for me. Haven't played for a while, haven't bought the last few addons yet.

So there are no general route overhaul/upgrades left? Not SFJ? Not Oakville?

HST livery designer. Part of me wonders if they're waiting for MML.

And I'm not playing East Coastway again until they get the newer 377 sounds. But no one seems to care about that except me.

I would say SoS SPAD’s and further refinement of steam physics.

Also one of the save issues is global - if you try to chain runs and take over a new train either on foot or from the cab, on resuming the save game the clock and objective marker disappears from the top left of the screen, along with the floating lollipop.

Oakville and SFJ already got their Pres Updates released in TSW 3, except the Oakville Passenger Timetable (Which DTG claims is not forgotten about, but it’s not listed on the roadmap either for some reason)

Peninsula Corridor still needs the fix for the Bombardier Cab Car as well.

There’s the manual firing for steam but that is more of a missing feature than something that needs fixing. They have said yheybare working on it.

One of the bigger issues outside of the add-ons manager for me is the menu and correct formations for Peninsula Corridor, where both cab cars have no services listed (bar a couple of ECS moves for one of them) and other services put the train facing in the wrong direction. So much to fix for one route. Sometimes I think they would like to take SFJ out into the yard and have it shot but they should fix it as a priority because it is the most messed up of routes currently. And this is whether DTG have said it is currently being looked at or not. It’s a biggie.

Surprised, nay shocked, that this is not visible on the roadmap. The current state of Xbox audio quality in TSW3 is completely unacceptable, and I am loathe to say its absence on the roadmap shows a blatant disregard and disrespect for a large portion of the player base. It should be way up there just under Addon Manager on the priority fixes list.

Indeed SFC fully kitted out with the MP15 and Baby Bullet should be one of the greatest routes in the game. At least it seems more stable these days but so many bugs - getting the F40 instead of the BB from the latter's Journey menu etc.

I guess they can't fix it as they started ignoring the issue.

Last I heard was "we need to get an audio engineer to have a look at it", but nothing since.

I believe they did, ISTR Matt reflecting they had more accurate implementation of cutoff values and the fact the Jubilee could haul Load 10 up the bank out of Lime Street at a reasonable speed without flatlining the steam pressure.

Specifically, the update to come apparently vastly improves the way chimney drafting and airflow is modelled at low speed, thereby giving the effect you describe.

Good. I tried running steam the other day and found it still far too challenging to maintain boiler pressure even on a flat gradient. I'm glad to know there is more to come. Thanks for the info update.

    Cheers

Presumably TSW3 fixes will be taken care of in the "short window" following release of TSW4, as stated in the TSW4 FAQs. Translation: TSW3 will be abandoned when the new version is released, just as TSW2 was abandoned in Sept 2022.

You really think they would ship TSW4 with the same Xbox audio issues as TSW3?

they had derailment improvements in their past few roadmaps, wonder if it's just fixing the bad physics or whatever

I was wondering about this myself. There was already one fix to address this in TSW3 (after screwing it first inTSW2 and forgetting about it) But those patches caused every loco with wheel transmission rods (08, 09, 363 + the steamers) to shake like a pudding when stopped and brakes are applied.

Optimisation has been on a few previous roadmaps, but not yesterday's part 1. Hopefully it'll be on part 2

  30. The Sand Patch Grade derailments issue just over the top of the grade were fixed quickly.

Yes. It's the same game so you'll pay to enjoy the audio problems and same stuttering frame rates throughout. DTG's sales philosophy: there's a sucker born every minute.

I bought the PS5 version of TSW4. When I had it on Xbox it felt really broken. Once I had my PS5 a few months ago I finally really got to play TSW3 and was surprised I like the game that I hated so much on Xbox. I even noticed that the audio problems that were plaguing TSW2 on PS4 were addressed in TSW3

If I was still on Xbox I would not have preordered and would probably be furious there is TSW4 without the audio issues being addressed in TSW3.

The only thing that can happen for me in TSW4 is that they bring back the audio quality from TSW2 to TSW4

I'm not on Xbox anymore. PS5 doesn't have that audio issue. DTG acknowledged they did not do anything to the audio on Xbox and users have reported no changes to the audio issues as well.

TSW4 on Xbox is for Xbox users to judge I personally would never recommend the Xbox version.

Yeah, until JetWash's lighting fixes are made the default or we get sliders, I cannot see myself buying a console version of TSW. Which means waiting for deep discounts on PC to rebuild my existing collection.

Frankly, given what happened to the TSW2 fixes, I'm not holding my breath for any of the TSW3 patches. Although my fingers are still crossed, I'm not even optimistic that we'll see any meaningful update to NYT.

If any of this happens, all well and good, and I'm normally a half full guy, but, well, history is the greatest teacher you know.

Part of me wishes they would simply give TSW3 the coup de grace and be done with it, like they did with TSW2 the other day.

I am watching closely the "short window" to see how short it is; whether there is a change log or some kind of description of the fixes, or whether they happen at all. I am thinking you are right because what reason would there be to believe TSW3 would not be abandoned after today, being final release day of TSW4?
