Hey guys, Jack Travers here today I’m just on a thread spree but anyways today I’m Suggest the Full southern Irish mainline from Dublin Heuston to Cork Kent during this thread I will be going over all the Stations, Rolling stock, Cities, the Distance, The different Branches and 1 Facts about this route, but let’s start of with information (distance, Time, facts)
Starting from Dublin Heuston to whole mainline to Cork Kent is 260km(164 miles)
and it ranges over 18 stations on the mainline. Depending on the train you take and stops you stop at the trip usually takes around 2 hours and 37 minutes to complete
Now for the fact: Long ago Irish Rail were planning to extend the line further instead of Cork to Dublin it would be Cork to Belfast but it was overturned because it would take about 5-6 hours. Irish Rail has a few Safety systems with CAWS just being one to name
The max speed of this route sadly only 161km/h or 100 mph

Now for the stations in order starting dubin (only showing pictures of main stations)
    (Dublin Section)
    1. Dublin Heuston[IMG]
    2. Park West Cherry Orchard
    3. Clondalkin Fonthill
    4. Adamstown
    5.Hazelhatch and Celbridge
    (Kildare section)
    6. Salins and Naas
    7. Newbridge
    8. Kildare
    9. Monasterevin
    (Laois Section) Pronounced Leesh
    10. Portarlington
    11. Portlaoise
    12. Ballybrophy
    (Tipperary section)
    13. Templemore
    14. Thurles
    15. Limerick Junction[IMG]
    (Cork Section)
    16. Charleville
    17. Mallow
    18. Cork Kent [IMG]

    Rolling Stock
Starting off with the most popular train on this route The Dublin - Cork Express train
which is a Mark 4 which only leads on services up From Cork to Dublin and It’s max speed being 201kmh(125mph) but restricted to 161kmh(100mph)[IMG]
And at the back of this beauty we have the class 201 locomotive which leads from Dublin to Cork and it’s max speed is 161kmh or 100mph. This train is pretty much our DVT + 91 [IMG]

Next we have the class 22000 which is rarely used on the full route to Cork but is more used on services such as Cork - Tralee, Dublin - Tralee, Dublin - Galway, Dublin - Limerick, Dublin - Waterford and other small stopper services which is the same train in my pfp. This trains max speed is 100 Mph(161kmh[IMG]

Next we have this train which Looks similar to the class 150 DMU from west cornwall local. This trains max speed is 75Mph(120kmh)[IMG]

Then we have it’s Identical twin brother just without the gang way on the front of it[IMG]

and lastly (Im pretty sure) We have the class 071 Locomotive made Mainly for Freight but sometimes used for passenger services [IMG]

Overrall I think this is an Amazing route and yes it is biased due to me being Irish but I think it would be great to get a break from British, German, Swiss and American route and look at more smaller Countries such as Ireland. I know this was a bit lazy and all over the place but it is 2:30 am and My brain isn’t functioning well enough to remember most of the stuff of this route. Please correct me if Im wrong down below and I will probably fix it in the morning when I’m able but until then this is the end of this route suggestion please tell me if TSW started doing longer routes would you get this or no and why the end - JT

It would be an interesting route but the route you suggested is too long. A reasonable amount is probably like 50-60 miles. Making a new route with new trains takes long enough so if you could divide the route into several sections

You’re right that’s why I stated it could be for the future when they start making longer routes. But I also already have suggested Dublin - Kildare which is about 50-so miles long but thanks for he feedback ;)
