Baby Bullet has its own timetable. My idea is to use it under PS4 edition of TSW4 on this new PS5 to see if those points affect the PS5 edition of TSW4 when i load that instance of Peninsula route into that instance of TSW4 and then pop over to change profile. Will TSW find my achievements for this new route and offer that Profile to import ? THAT would make sense to me as profile import logic. After the upgrade i will try this again with a new route if i am still without my profile from PS4 edition of TSW4 now that it has imported my correct TSW3 profile. Logic may yet have its say ... patiently as i can, robert Kanada no, not Kannada or even Little Canada, MN, just Canada for DB railfan
Oy. PS5 edition of TSW4 reports no Baby Bullet. Hmm PS5 UI for game TSW dlc list shows it installed. Hmm. PS5 Game Library item PS5 TSW4 lists it as ... queued ... but queue says it is loading PS5 edition of TSW3 BB ... so i expedite that. Loaded. No Joy. Reason ? TSW2 version of BB has not loaded. Oy. Arcane misinformation or arcane logic or both ? Blame Sony UI game version logic ? Maybe. XBox has issues of its own. But Sony ? I have a lot of good Sony gear dating back decades ... To be continued ... i guess ... r
Sony PS5 DLC content for PS5 edition of TSW4 lists 99+ but PS4 edition lists 67, so here may be the intact rodent droppings in this bulk peanut smear barrel ... no, that is not even a mixed metaphor ... that's just a nightmarish image founded in peanut storage reality. Forget the peanut mould. This breakks the mold ? Bursts the barrel? 99+ versus 67 looks like evidence of the mis-reporting that i keep encountering. Cause: in desperation i deleted PS5 edition of TSW4 a few days back ... but did not first shutdown any items still in the download queue ? Maybe. Sony keeps copies? Sony is actually using dlc copies across game versions ? So. If must delete an installed version to get an upgrade to take hold correctly we may need a procedure to prep for delete and then to validate after a putative delete ? Putative. The apposite term, methinks.
Hello, can I check you've correctly installed the content? We have a guide for both PS4 and PS5 on our support site: https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/80001087959-getting-started-with-train-sim-world-4
As far as I'm aware (happy to be corrected) PS4 to PS5 profile import is not possible. You would be able to take a PS4 TSW2 > TSW3 > TSW4 profile import and a PS5 TSW2 > 3 > 4 but if you change at any point in that process from PS4 to PS5 version of the game the profile will not come with - see Getting Started with Train Sim World 4 : Dovetail Support (freshdesk.com) - particularly the section on importing profiles that says: Please Note: - Profiles cannot be transferred across different platforms. PS4 and PS5 do count as different platforms. Your routes and DLC should transfer though - just not your profile.
There's no reason to add all that extra words. What is with the arcane misinformation or logic part. That wasn't necessary in your post tbh
If you are starting out on PS5 then you can’t swap your profile from PS4. There’s no point experimenting with seeing if PS4 versions will affect PS5 versions because they won’t. The PS4 versions of the games on PS5 are separate games and the progress and profiles won’t transfer to or from the PS5 versions. Delete the PS4 versions and just play the PS5 versions to avoid any further confusion. You will need to start from a new profile for the PS5 versions. It’s unavoidable. Unfortunately with DLC downloads the PS4 versions download as well and you need to manually stop the downloads or delete them later. There is a longstanding issue with the Baby Bullet DLC on PS5 with the loco and/or cab car not appearing in menus in various TSW titles from TSW2 to TSW4. It is worth searching on the forum and following that saga. I forget the exact details of where fixes for that are up to. It’s possibly the worst DLC to check functionality elsewhere is working. Also, while trying to sort out technical issues it is best to stick to the facts and not inject flowery language and analogies. It’s hard enough to decipher what your issue is without them making it harder to read.
Very hard to figure out what the original post is all about due to the confusing language and grammar (same goes for all other content posted by that user). But profile transfer between PS4 and PS5 versions of the game is indeed not possible. I got a PS5 in August and had to leave behind my PS4 progress made since February 2021. Something to do with the different ways add-ons are packaged on PS4 & PS5, I believe. It’s surely bittersweet, but the gameplay experience of the PS5 version is simply so much better, so I’m not really ever missing my old progress. Just a few medals, collectibles and completed journeys anyways. The DTG Live challenges, which actually unlock scenery tiles, are thankfully shared between all platforms and versions of the game.
