Out of all the bug reports I write to DTG support, I would say a good 85% of them are related to bugged, misplaced or missing OHLE. Is there something specific in the way routes are made that makes OHLE difficult to place, leaving invisible gaps in wires, gantry masts floating above the ground, or large random masses of overhead wires hanging disconnected like spaghetti in the sky? I'm just curious as to why it is such a widespread occurrence on every route where OHLE exists?
I can't remember if it was you or another poster, but someone highlighted some misplaced OHLE assets to the side of the track. They were very thin and very difficult to see on the photo. Don't get me wrong, it is important these things are reported so they are fixed - and if I saw it, it'd certainly annoy me, but I think part of it is that it is so difficult to see some of the issues when the OHLE is so thin. That said, some more obvious bugs also remain unfixed - for various reasons such as complexity but also time as far as I understand it. Passengers being one.
I would be interested in hearing the thoughts of any dev regarding OHLE placement though, floating gantry masts is something that confuses me as to how it occurs. I've mainly observed it when the ground around the gantry is on a slope - wondered if this could be part of the issue. A solid block being placed on a rigid slope, rather than effectively the relevant parts of the block being covered by ballast.
OHLE is an essential part of any electrified railway anywhere in the world. I have only seen more or less elaboration in WCML Over Shap from JT In all other cases, the quality of OHLE in the game is extremely simplified
