Driving Antelope's Valley loco, the minimum brake application is listed as 23% on the brake gauges in the HUD bottomright corner. Putting the brakes in release shows 0% on the HUD.

However, while driving the cabcar, putting the brakes in minimum brake application is shown as 0% on the brake gauges HUD. Putting the brakes in release shows -100%.

Why does this inconsistency exist? Within the same DLC, controlling the same brake system from either end as far as I understand. It's confusing. 0% means you've released the brakes when driving the loco, but it means minimum application when driving the cabcar.

Very curious why this design choice was made. DTG Matt any chance you can explain why things are the way they are?

There's a layer of scripting in between the HUD and the levers in the train. I think this is a simple oversight. I'd have to check but there's every chance that the cab car and locomotive were scripted by different individuals. I wouldn't say that this was a concious design choice, just a detail that got missed. Not going to lose any sleep over it personally!

Thanks for the explanation. I certainly wouldn't want anyone to lose any sleep over it, but it'd be nice if the HUD was consistent on this. It can be confusing, as 0% on the HUD means you've still got the brakes on when driving the loco, but while driving the cabcar you'll find yourself having released the brakes. Wouldn't be my first time if I suddenly find myself slowly moving downhill after a station stop because of this

The cab car has its own brake stand and may have a different type of brakes control , than the F125. I am not sure what the RL difference is.
