Presumably it will be along tomorrow, the usual two hours before the stream giving not much time to pose the questions that inevitably won't get answered!
Not to be antagonising or disrespectful, but the roadmap Q&A seems to be a bit pointless recently regardless of when it happens... It just seems to avoid uncomfortable conversations that need to be had. The questions chosen to be discussed on stream seem very selectively hand picked to avoid any area of conflict. Any in depth uncomfortable questions are totally avoided and if they are discussed it's the usual small, carefully rehearsed management talk that is spewed out that doesn't offer any insight or assurance. Some brutal honesty would certainly be positively received within the TSW community so we can all know what direction the game is heading in and make an informed decision on whether to continue following TSWs trajectory for better or worse. Instead we get insincere snippets of hype around content that doesn't live upto expectations, or drip fed carefully rehearsed management talk about the ongoing core issues and intentionally deflecting any brutal honesty surrounding declining quality or the ever expanding core issues... Call me a pessimist or disgruntled, but I feel it comes from a well founded place. If you charge a premium price, hype your products up, and it doesn't live upto either, I think as a customer and player, uncomfortable questions need to be directly addressed to the community and a indepth conversation around quality needs to be had. I talk for myself at least. Sometimes talking about the elephant in the room and directly acknowledging all of the negative issues mentioned can be positively received, and enhance TSWs public image, if it is done right and sincerely...
I wouldnt call it avoiding uncomfortable questions, I would say it is much more simple than that - there is no point in raising expectations beyond reasonable level, make up stuff they dont know for sure etc... because any untruth or assumption or sth they would make in a stream would backfire tenfold if it doesnt come true... therefore they can only divulge stuff that is legit and proved, that they have real information about lets say there is a route coming out with certain timeframe, there is no point in saying it will come lets say in June when the work is still going on and there might be complications along the way same with issues and bugs... there is no evil conspiracy behind the scenes, some evil corporation bound to suck us dry ... if someone from DTG chooses to reveal certain bit of information, it is because THEY CAN
It's not about conspiracy theories, quite bluntly it's been a matter of burying their heads in the sand at times... And in regards to setting expectations, that's the problem, over hyping products like WCMLS and CCN that do not live upto the hype. We are still waiting for massive improvements to WCMLS. The hype DTG give it, and what we actually got were two different things. But I respect your difference of opinion, and if you enjoy the things I share negative opinions of then I'm happy for you.
The first Monday of May is always a holiday in the UK, although the opportunity has been taken to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
This roadmap isn't going to be that exciting. Some new pictures of Frankfurt S-Bahn and the Santa Fé pack maybe. Would be genuinely surprised if there are serious updates on the Manchester or Tadami routes. Even a console release date for Köln-Aachen would be a (really nice) surprise.
I‘ll try to add a view im the middle. I‘m totally on your side that it seems that DTG is not even acknowledging the extent of the core issues (arguable the worst issue right now) which is a no-go because it really gives the impression to the customer that the developer is not aware how their product is actually performing. However I also have to agree with razmatus#2517 that DTG cannot comment on topics that they do not have certain knowledge/news on because it will put them into an even trickier spot if they do not stick to their insinuations. Back to your point again: The core issues should not be counted into that category and it is critical for DTG to openly acknowledge the problems so that we can at least be sure they know what‘s actually going on.
Probably because work is being done on the next version of TSW, and bugs have taken a back seat. We are about 3 months away from the announcement. This year was just a big waste of time hardly any route does not have the blurry texture issue. I've stopped playing until I see what the next version brings as this version was very poorly managed in terms of fixes considering we have been complaining about it since release. They might as well just give up on consoles with how it sits now. Heck Subway Sim 2 runs better on my Series X than TSW does right now.
Look up the roadmap of may 2024. Pretty much the same in terms of upcoming content. So it's pretty typical for this time of year.
Agree overall TSW5 has been very disappointing. Consoles (PS5 and Series X at least) aren't the problem, it's DTG's rapidly spahettifying codebase. Is Subway Sim2 any good btw? Dying for a decent train game on my Series X
I think its pretty good, very similar to TSW. If you like subways or short frequent stop routes its good. Personally I think it could have been $10-15 cheaper. But overall its good.
