Belgium has beautiful stations and trains that you hardly see anywhere else.

    Railway 36
    Brussels-North - Liège-Guillemins
Including Zaventem airport, seems to be a good line. Brussels - Leuven is quite short, especially to Liege is the longest.

Of train material the AM80 Break fits well, is used as a Sprinter, just like Intercity. This one has good traction motors and you see it most often in Belgium.

Following on from the stream where Matt essentially ruled out major investment in anything which doesn’t fit with the current paradigm of UK/Germany/USA, a small route as proof of concept for another territory might be a good idea. The only issie is that, big or small, the same amount of research is required to sort out signalling/infrastructure requirements and the traction/rolling stock needed.

I believe you answered your own question. Putting in the time, effort, manpower and expense of developing routes, trains, signals, houses, even trees and roads for trains that only operate on a small section of route (or with limited wider appeal) might not be something DTG can't "sell" to the management
We know that Germany, the UK and the US have big train "scenes", so if Belgium does too then maybe... but still debatable

Personally I see Japan as the next likely territory, but only if they can get Union Workshop on board. I would love to see the Forest Rail route in TSW.

Yup third party developers building Belgian routes for TSW2 would make them rich. Currently no third party developers that want to become rich I suppose. :D

Very few software devs get rich... Make a living maybe but you'd have to have a very original and widespread concept to get rich

The only time I did payware work (for MSTS) the amount of royalties wasn’t even enough to buy a decent PC. It did mean having to complete a self assessment tax form for two years after so the Inland Revenue got their cut. Basically, don’t give up your day job. Which is why, ever after, anything I do for any of the sims was and always will be released as freeware.

Excellent idea but for Belgium it can be introduced with L37 HSL3 96 km length that way SKA gets SNCB NMBS services like the HLD77 7771-7871 stopping at Aachen Rothe Erde to be detached with RRO Riesa-Dresden 185.5 taking over the Container train. Mixed goods train HLD77 7771-7871 replaced by DB BR185.2 Rallion paint Main Spessart Bahn. The fun part is the Overnight sleeper train DB BR182 ÖBB1116 replaced by SNCB NMBS HLE18 Aachen to Brussels via Liège L37 Leuven L36.

I do software (database) dev as a sideline and make enough for maybe a couple of drinks a week, if I was a drinker (which I'm not)
Definitely not too many Mark Zuckerbergs out there
