Hello guys, after long time and ordering a lot of stuff for my TSW all these years i have one question.. Why people asking for more and more routes in the forums, to play the same exactly thing, so many new routes...and they not asking for the more serious things like to fix all the core problems, to work on features, to have a totally same quality routes? I know that the DTG have to make some more money to can improve the game, but we guys paying all this time for unfinished thing that they fixing till now... Maybe its time for the company to make this game more stable? without crashes and finally to fix the main problems of the game?? I am just asking...
Well the DLC basically keeps the game financially viable but I agree they need to be slightly more discerning about what they release. Only so many electric UK commuter routes or DB inter urban 70km runs before they saturate the market. Quality issues aside, I think the recent Ludwigsbahn may be the one that finally achieved the latter, no real incentive to buy it. They also seem to be in a right pickle with North America and certainly publicly don’t appear to have an action plan to deal with it. Licensing a factor but they need to start thinking outside the box and bringing in new countries to keep the game from stagnating.
sure i understand that they need to be paid about the near future...but how a game for example that costs 60€ people working on with updates again and again..for so many years, and here they need every some months our 40€?? i mean they grab so much money all these years for that result..and im not sure if they made the best work...
After one does not prevent the other , personally I would like them to stop releasing unfinished routes that take months to correct, but I would like new interesting routes (and non-linear ones). I think DTG should focus on both goals at the same time because if they focus on one than the other there will inevitably be problems. Even if we see that dtg has chosen to prioritize the releases of dlc...We must not forget that DTG is a company that thinks first and foremost about money, like other companies.
DTG have at least to some extent based their financial model on EA. Release the same title with a new version each year and fill in the gaps with relatively expensive DLC. Which, for TSW, they control the market 100% as even third party payware must go through them.
Some people don't care about quality of the game, but more on the content, and will take more content over a good base quality game, especially if the content is something they like or are interested in.
DTG should bite the bullet the fix the base game, I know GTA has problems, but the game has had so much added to it that it was not originally designed for? I don't know TSW was originally set up, was it set up to run 3 trains and 4 routes and now it has a load of trains, routes and now we have guard mode. It seems that DTG were patching and fixing, but now it just seems they have given up, unless something completely breaks the game and interupts the money train, it doesn't get fixed it seems. More DLC DTG add, the less chance or intentions they have in fixing the base game.
I have no problem with DTG releasing dlc at regular intervals, even though their recent output is uninteresting to me. You can't deny them an income stream. However, what they should not do is knowingly release poor quality and/or unfinished routes and then leave it up to 3rd parties to hold up the bar.
If they didn't release new content, there wouldn't be any bug fixes. I mean, there aren't really any now, but if they cut off their revenue stream, there'd be no chance at all.
You must not read the forums, there are plenty more posts on what needs to be fixed than suggestions for new DLC. So more are asking for it to be fixed and for years it been that way. DTG just never delivers. They say they will be more focussed on patches and fixes, we get 2 maybe 3 after they make that stament an then go back to quiet.
How would the game continue to be financially beneficial to DTG, without “us” the cash cows filling DTG pockets?
