It could leave DTG with egg on its face if they can deliver a quality route with little or no major bugs and dare I say smooth, freeze free frame rates Yes it’s a smaller route but it won’t bode well for Rivet, if the quality of their first route is slated by the community especially for the price, which while cheaper than normal is still on the high end of the scale in terms of content BUT... I’m sure if they deliver better than what we have had (and maybe a proper instruction guide) it could actually be worth the purchase although I won’t be a day one purchaser until I see some decent PlayStation feedback
If the route is well made and performs great with few or no bugs, I suspect it would put pressure on DTG. I imagine it would be embarrassing if third party developers can do things better than DTG, who built the core game. That said, the latest TS2021 release was pretty poorly received despite Rivet’s presence in that game.
It does look like Rivet's taking a long time adding the finishing touches to the route even though it seems the route is pretty much finished. This could be a sign that they're taking time to iron out any bugs that are present.
There was a thing a while back where there was some poor feedback for Rivet’s BR204 DLC on release. Rivet fixed it all pretty swiftly but it took a long time for those fixes to get through the system and into an update. If Rivet find anything is broken with their route at any stage up to release it makes sense to fix it first rather than do what DTG might do and release it anyway and fix it later in a patch. The scheduling for patch releases can be a bit odd.
A slightly different perspective - this premiere is interesting for me, because it is the first new route to TSW2. SPG is a bit of a re-make (successful, in my opinion), but I will be happy to see if SKA is a sensation, or maybe the 'new' version of the UE engine is a new quality. I was less captivated by Bakerloo. And RIVET. Show me your claw
