Nigeria, with the help of China, is currently building West Africa's first ever standard gauge railway. It's an incredible project, as can be seen in this video The initial section of Lagos to Ibadan is partially open, is 156km long and will take two hours when fully open. Ultimately it will stretch up to Kano via Abuja, though the project has suffered several delays. In some ways it's a perfect route for TSW2, albeit longer than usual. Starting in a built up area, it quickly enters sparse suburbs before going through the Nigerian countryside, a landscape never seen in transport simulators. So, I know this is a pipe dream, DTG concentrate on replicating lines where their customers live and I understand that business choice. However, if we are ever going to get off the beaten track of UK-Germany-USA then there are worse places to start.
