Just wondering about the new suspension system that DTG are currently working on, and how it will affect already released locomotives and stock when it eventually gets implemented.

I mean, we already have lots of Class 66, BR185, BR766 Dostos in our libraries. So can we realistically expect DTG to go back and add suspension to those, or will they be rendered obsolete?

Are we going to end up with another 20 Class 66s and BR185s in our libraries?

How about the standalone DLC locomotives (BR101, BR187, BR Class 20, BR Class 40 etc.) that cost £11.99 each?

Are we going to have to start all over again with new DLC locomotives and rolling stock purchases to keep up to date, or are DTG going to retrofit all existing stock?

Just curious, as I'm guessing DTG think "it's too much work" to update the already existing back catalogue... Unless the "preservation crew" magically comes back.

I think they said they are only doing it for the 3 core TSW4 routes, so I guess that means 801 and 66 from ECML, Metrolink stuff from AVL, and 4024 from Vorarlberg, not the Flying Scotsman, anything from DRA, or anything pre-TSW4 :(

If its released in TSW4 i suspect they will go back and do the trains that came with TSW4.

But saying that I think this new semi interlock feature is gonna be a one time thing just like guard mode on Glossop.

Well, for the BR 187... I think it'd need to be genuinely fixed before fitting it with new suspension. :(

It will not be present on pre-TSW4 releases, unless they are brought up to TSW4 standard.

I honestly doubt that they'll go back and fit it to lets say Maintalbahn's 642 or Salzburg Rosenheim's BR111. We all know what to expect from Dovetail and their "it'll be updated later".

While it would be nice to see the (for example) class 45 fitted with the new Suspension system, it won't happen. That it's only being fitted to the 801 and ECML variant of the 66 is frankly rather annoying.

Yup, it's a lot of work. It's not just a tickbox and change some things around. It's lots of changes in physics and even the smallest mistake can cause the train to become a ufo. It was explained in one of the streams by matt. Plus it has to be felt for a long time. They can't just drive it for 5 minutes but rather much longer to see if any adjustments have to be made
