Will we get updates to TSW2 routes or will DTG abandon the broken addons and TSW2 for forever?
Look at the roadmap
DTG have said they're not going to have a preserved crew like they did from TSW2020 to TSW2, but that doesn't mean there won't be routes which get the lighting treatment of TSW3 (which from what I've seen and read is the main difference between a TSW2 route and a TSW3 one) but I am fairly sure this would only happen if there was a major expansion or change in the route which would be a paid for thing

Nobody talks about this in xbox discussion.
I think you are asking two different questions. In your thread title, you ask about bringing TSW2 routes up to TSW3 standard. I think that they have no obligation to do this, although they did do this for TSW routes in TSW2. It would be nice though.
In the text of your actual post, you are asking about broken addons and bugs in TSW2 routes. I believe that, given that these DLC were purchased for TSW2, they do have an obligation to fix these problems in TSW2 to a standard in which they work as expected (red lights, crashes etc).
Whether they do or not, I suppose is down to the bean counters at DTG.
They said in a Stream in order for them to upgrade TSW2 routes to TSW3 standards would take 3 years of manpower of all staff.
So not likely at all. But if they do upgrade any of the TSW2 routes, I think it will be the Rush Hour, or top sellers.
Sad truth, unfortunately.
How they just abandon TSW2 because of cash grab. We had promises from DTG
If you think its a cash grab then don't buy it. Simple as that.
When EA drop Fifa 23 do they still create content or update Fifa 22 or Fifa 21?
They said they would fix the bugs. I don't remember them actually stating "in TSW2" until the release announcement of TSW3
And even then they've said there will be fixing works to TSW2 after the release of TSW3, but maybe not to everything
It sucks, but that's what I've read of the situation
Fixing bugs - yes.
Upgrading to new features - not planned.
Longer answer... Adam's team will be prioritising bug fixing on the older content to fix the issues that they have. Whether we upgrade older routes to full TSW3 feature set is not decided, and wouldn't be the entire collection anyway, the longer answer here simply is that nothing's been decided (so assume it's a no) and if we opt to get one or more older routes upgraded we'll be sure to tell you.
Is there any information about fixing the very annoying out of memory crash at the Dresden routes? I played it this morning and had the usual crash round Dresden Mitte again. Could you or someone of the bugfix team give us an update? It’s very sad that this bug will probably occur in TSW3, too, although it‘s called a new game.
By the way - An extended version of Dresden routes would be a nice DLC for TSW3. In my opinion, this route is the best german one yet, it it would be cool to see it updated to TSW3 standards and f.e. extended to Leipzig.
The Dresden Chemnitz Dostos can’t get the Headlights off, it’s shows white and red lights
How do you tag people
put an @ symbol, start typing their screen name, select them from the list. In the text shown it will be a grey rather than black (like a hyperlink)
The problem with the crashing Dresden Route on Xbox is still there in TSW3 - any news?
Possibly not the right place to ask, but kind of along the same lines, I may have missed it in amongst the deluge of info released in the run up to and during release of TSW3, but did London Commuter finally get upgraded to the Rush Hour route it should have always been at launch, for either TSW2 or TSW3, or are we still waiting 12 months later for that to be added?
In my opinion, bug fixing is both more important and easier to do than implementing the new lighting features to the old routes. There is indeed a difference (I very much prefer the brighter lighting of TSW 3), but it's not that bad on the legacy content that it can't be enjoyed. I'm glad Adam's crew prioritises bug fixing.
I like your answer pretty much. And I´ll quote you on that.
NOT having .........derailed trains ....... flying around the place anymore would be a reason for commemoration. And we finally could finish some open services.
I think a lot of us will be saving his reply somewhere for future reference.
