I was wondering if the new TSW3 SEHS will be a new full route or an extension to the TSW2 version. I don’t have the original version and I would like to know if the new one will be fully playable, because when TS 2022 went to TSC, one of the routes was an extension.

It will be a new standalone version with the Class 465 included.

My take on what they said last night:
The TSW3 DLC will be a standalone route from St Pancras to Ebbsfleet where it branches. High level goes via Gravesend and Chatham to Faversham, low level goes to Ashford (on extra station and a reworked Ebbsfleet)
The North Kent lines have been extended from Gravesend to Dartford (an additional five stations) and the timetable reworked from the TSW2 version so the 375s only run on the Medway ML section to Faversham, the 465 from Rainham to Dartford and freight services from Dartford to Hoo and from the Medway Valley line to Hoo or out through Dartford
You also get the 465 as standard on the route, whereas in TSW2 is an add on DLC

Knowing both routes in real life I'll be buying it.
Any improvements to the existing route will be a bonus.

  7. Yes and no, we will get the full hs1 part of the route (St Pancras to Ashford) but not the loop back to St Pancras via the east Kent line.

New stations on North Kent Lines - Northfleet, Swanscombe, Greenhithe, Stone Crossing, Dartford
Presumably we will also get the north and south stabling lines just East of Dartford

New stations on HS1 - Ebbsfleet (low level), Ashford
We will also be getting Ashford depot

In addition we'll also get access to Gravesend Platform 0 and there'll also be trains running to and from the Hoo branch at Hoo Junction though not sure how many chances you get to do shunting or moves onto that line

I assume we're not getting part of the Maidstone Line that runs almost parallel to (and crosses) the HS1 line for some 15-20 miles? If so will this be AI only or simply not modelled (track but no trains maybe)?

Simple answer, no. 395 services on the hs1 section via ashford usually terminate at Ramsgate or Dover Priory. The 465/375 services usually mostly end at Victoria or charing cross so no it is not a full route

    To clarify this question

The TSW3 DLC will be a route in and of itself (so a "full route" as far as the game is concerned. You won't need any other DLC to play this DLC, all assets required will be included in that DLC

It's NOT the same as the TSC version where you needed the Chatham Mainline to get the rest

  12. They would have modelled the area around the medway bridge (hs1 bridge) so ideally that part of the medway valley line should be present but this dtg we are talking about! I'm sure they said there's the Maidstone ai present at strood.

  13. I thought the 395 had a terminating service at Ashford which then returned to St Pancras via hs1 and services that carried on to dover or ramsgate but carried on back to St Pancras via Faversham?

I accidentally caught one of these services from Stratford int, took about 3 hours to get to sittingbourne via Ashford :(

only the first and last services start or end at Ashford. There's some splitting & attaching during the day as well.

2:12:33 - Zoomed out view showing HS1 from the top, Dartford on the right (including Crayford A junction), Ebbsfleet in the middle (including the old cemet facatory lines), Fawkham junction
2:12:37 - Dartford station including storage lines to East
2:12:45 - Strood at top, Medway Valley Line and Chatham Mainline extent shown (CML is the top of the two lines, MVL is the bottom one)
2:12:49 - Kent Mainline crosses HS1 South to North
2:12:50 - KML depicted alongside HS1 route, crossing North to South just before Ashford
2:12:57 - zoomed out shot showing KML/HS1 and associated branches

With regards to Maidstone AI at Strood, that would be the Medway Valley Lines traffic which would end up at Paddock Wood or Tonbridge. The Kent Mainline traffic comes from Charing Cross or Victoria and goes via Ashford to Dover and Ramsgate

The 395s tend to start and end away from Ashford, with most ending up in Thanet (Margate / Ramsgate / Broadstairs) or Dover but a couple starting en route at places like Sandwich. In the day almost all services are "via Ashford" rather than to it

  17. Yeah I know that ARuscoe lol

I actually commuted on the line when it was still semaphore signalled. I remember the headache. Queenborough to sittingbourne, sittingbourne to Rochester, Rochester to strood, strood to Maidstone West, Maidstone West to paddock wood then finally paddock wood to Tonbridge! 6 changes to travel 30 miles :o that was until I found out it was a lot quicker to get a train into London then back down to Tonbridge.

My comment was more "I don't think they're talking about the same line you are..." The lines close to HS1 wouldn't be that close to Strood station (a few miles South over the Medway bridge as you know)

There's three in the city but none close to the stations... I mean there's also the place where they invented viagra a couple of miles away if you want something to cure baldness...

From "I assume we're not getting part of the Maidstone Line that runs almost parallel to (and crosses) the HS1 line for some 15-20 miles?" I assumed they mean the Kent Mainline

As my previous post the bit between Bearsted and Hollingbourne is the "South to North" crossing and the remainder is the bit between Charing and Ashford

So from the roadmap stream there's track laid approximately between Bearsted and Hollingbourne and Charing to Ashford, with a gap in between. I ask because these lines run quite close and from numerous locations you can see trains on both lines simultaneously (though probably not close enough in places to justify laying the track for some distant AI the entire length).

For correction I meant the line from Ashford to Victoria via Maidstone East (not the Medway Valley Line) which wikipedia at least refers to as the Maidstone Line: Maidstone line - Wikipedia

See my post of 13:30 today above detailing the tracks and where they were shown on the embedded vid

I saw that, thanks. From my analysis above I don't think we'll get AI beyond Charing (the track actually stops short of here so presumably a portal).
