Seeing the blurb about the forthcoming TSW4 I thought I'd give TSW a go, as I have TSW2020 already but hardly played (I usually play TSC). So I fired it up, got in the cab and did the necessary but when it was time to move, the game froze and instantly went back to the Steam page. Have tried several times on the Transpennine route and also the GW route, with the same results. I had noticed on TSC at full screen resolution a similar problem and I resolved that by decreasing the resolution one notch (so to speak) and it now runs perfectly with all sliders at maximum. Thinking the same might apply on TSW, so I decreased the screen res by several notches and with all sliders at medium yet the games still crashes. My pc is relatively new, <2 months old, with the following specs:- 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700F 2.10 GHz 64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable) NVidea GeForce RTX 4060 Windows 11 Has anyone any ideas why this freezing may be happening or is able to point me to a thread that mentions my problem please?
Hi davep555 , your best chance at finding a solution is to troubleshoot the problem. We have dedicated guide on the support knowledge base for doing this here: Troubleshooting Crashes & Other Technical Issues Guide
if it is for TSW 2020 i think you need to do this I have a 10th Gen Intel CPU or newer and my game crashes on start-up : Dovetail Support (freshdesk.com)
Thank you! That was EXACTLY what was needed. Tried it on the reduced screen res and all was good, so naturally (?-LOL) I went back into settings and put the screen res back up to 3840x2160, still all good, so I then slid the graphic sliders back up to max - and boy! Does it look good So a pint or a coffee on me should we meet. Thanks once again Thorgred. Edited to add : This also fixes the problem on TSClassic.
