Currently my latest project which I'm working on in the TSW PC editor (sorry Glossop, you've been put on hold) is the Midland Mainline route - my local mainline route. Starting off with the stations, with the first station to receive the upgrade - East Midlands Parkway, I wanted it to look more 'grey' and less colourful, as it is per real life, whilst also increasing the station 'clutter' asset density. I also wanted to update the look of the station a little, by having a 'under construction' installation of new LED lights, for both the station and exterior. This is still WIP. Also to the addition of East Midlands Parkway is new P.A speakers and CCTV cameras. These have all been carefully hand placed, one by one. (It's starting to sound like a crisps commercial a bit now, isn't it?) This will be repeated at the appropriate stations along the line, where upgrades are/have taken place over the last couple of years. On to the outside of East Midlands Parkway, I've added some parked cars for the drivers who unwillingly do not want to pay for their parking! I've also started adding new light columns to both the car parks and central reservation within the road. This is still WIP. Let me know what you think of it so far
I see my car there outside the station but purely for picking up passengers from London - not through stinginess I'll have you know ! Carry on the lovely work.
I don't think so as that was done with the unofficial editor, so the scenery tiles will probably conflict.
So all your hard work that you have done do you think it will eventually work on Tsw4 or are we to just keep tsw3 and enjoy your mods on that.
Looking good LM. With an 'official' editor available, you will be able to do more additions and changes to routes giving us a better game experience. Thank you for this.
The first of many custom assets to be added to this route! Starting off with the traffic lights, I thought the default looked too 'London like' and outdated, so I decided to search for some models online. Luckily, I came across this - the author kindly lets you download and uses their model for free. After downloading, I decided to update the textures, add some slight weathering, as well as convert the old halogen optics to LED style. These are unbranded, however they are heavily influenced off the Siemens Helios brand. All scaling, positioning and everything else has been done by myself via the public editor
Looking great so far! My only hope now is that on the approach to Nottingham you can see the symbol of the Imperium but that's a longshot and most players likely don't care enough. Still absolutely incredible work! Keep it up!
Ah unfortunately the screenshot I had of it is in a phone stored in a closet somewhere I think. I might have a runaround on Google or for the phone
I know its a miniscule detail that is argueably not worth the detail having the realistic branding of what i'd aruge are landmark factories (The birthplace of the biggest wargamming scene in the world is a little big i'd argue) For location (for where it is) I dont know if the location helps but I wanted to share it just encase. Its the little details I guess. Thanks. (sorry for the second post - Edit didnt allow me to add photos for some reason)
This is the top logo, I'm not sure which specific logo the bottom one is. Looks like a winged warhammer to me though.
Let there be light! Point lights now added to the traffic lights, so they are now illuminated at all times. Also, a red light camera added for good measure.
Fantastic. Someday I'll get MML. But I'd rather pay you, londonmidland, than lazy Skyhook. Just a note, turn off the blue Translucency walls for making screenshots
I actually think the blue walls make the mods stand out. These really look amazing. Telling LM how to "use" the editor did make me chuckle though...
Hey guys. Some more changes tonight. I have focused on replacing the ugly and low resolution UE4 font which much highest resolution, true to life fonts. I’ve also been experimenting with the speed boards, to replace their visuals too.
Can you add reflective textures to them so you can actually see them from a distance as in reality, rather than them popping in right in front of you?
That would be something to do with the materials. The level of detail (LOD) also isn’t the greatest in TSW so I’m not sure what I can do with this.
Brilliant work, this will make a big difference. Can I ask, how are you doing this? I made a few new speed boards in Blender and imported them into the editor - to manually overlay in a route - which would take a silly amount of time. Are you using a more economical method? The font I was using was Gill Sans Nova, looks similar to yours.
I'm doing the exact same method as you. Seeing as copy and paste doesn't even work currently, this is going to take forever. So I'm going to have to wait until there is a patch for the editor I think.
Some more improvements to the scenery in the Leicester station area, including adding various station 'clutter' assets, as well as adding the missing lights for the engineers' sidings.
