West Sumerset Railway has a feature that not really that's usefull for example the 47/33/52/08/09/31/20(Not to mention any other loco that might fit on it). What am i talking about, the turntable at minehead.Watching the 47 use it made me wonder if the person operating the 47 relized how it made 0 sence to turn around a loco with a cab on both ends. Now if you want to get technical perhaps the 08/09/20 useing might make some sence. But my point is assuming it's large enough the jubilee,8F,4F could make really good use of it.But with the way the switches are set up in that area theres no way to reach the turn table unless you have a pre built scenario. So the WSR minehead area would need a modified set of manual switches to make this possible.

I think matt once said WSR was for the diesel gala and not really set up for steam use with out modifications.Or something similar.

Does it say anywhere online how big the minehead turntable really is?

You can turn current stock around without any problems. I agree a steam gala timetable would be nice.

Personally whilst I'd love for a steam timetable on WSR I'd actually prefer it if they waited until we had a Panier tank or similar. So we got a far more varied timetable.

A Pannier and a Hall would go down a treat for WSR.

Well, water towers need to be made usable, too, as well as some coal added, even if they are used just in a single scenario (but refueling the diesel is also just a single scenario).

I looked it up and think i found that a panier is a steam loco like DUCK from the island of sodor.Which would be great,it be a very usefull engine (I started typing that statement before i realized it and DUCK and the island of sodor are connect to it).

But i suspect some kind of 0-6-0 may be on DTG to do list, with the FOWLER 4F coming out next. It's a small 0-6-0 tender engine the next logical step would be a 0-6-0 tank engine.Maybe DTG could do the steam gala and add a panier plus there other 3 steam locos.

It could be a alternative era add on where the current WSR is modified for the steam gala without the need for a complete rebuild.
Plus it would really be preferable if they went the extra mile and added at least 3 new steam locos to a new era WSR steam gala add on pack.

Note:While there at it make sure a auto coach get's added in there some where,it make sence since there are currently no cab car type on any of there UK routes yet.

But if DTG decided to do island of wight steam railway that be equally great.but you really would need at least at least 2 new steam locos and variety of 1st 2nd 3rd class passenger coaches as well both 2 axle and 4 axle types. There are no coaches in the game like these types.

A Pannier would go well with a GWR “B” set while for the Hall, they could possibly do a rake of Collett or Hawksworth coaches rather than just drag chocolate and cream Mark Ones around.

If DTG really wanted to,then along with a 0-6-0 they could possibly do a 0-4-0 steam loco. There really would be alot of uses for both types.shunting, switching, branchline duties.I have even seen it suggested that 0-4-0's operating in groups upto four where used for banking duty on many of the UK's steepest grades.Having multiple locos doing banking would be a interesting challenge.

DTG need to improve the way the paths and destination points work with turntables and the instructions given to players on whether they are to turn around or not. Currently if you are to drive onto a turntable and spin it 180 degrees and drive off it onto the same track there is nothing to say the turntable needs turning, which leads to confusion as to whether you are turning around or just using the turntable as a in and out to take a different path on tracks that diverge on the turntable or nearby. Nothing tells you which way your train needs to point when exiting a turntable. This happens on SoS timetable services if I remember correctly. You just have to guess.

Not to get off track but there many routes with turn tables that work and have a control shed on them but they can't be accessed because theres no manual switches or red lights galore.Does DTG do this just so you can go for a spin and wanted you to see they went the extra mile to add something useless to you because you can't get anything to it.
