Just noticed on completing a scenario on the Kingwood Branch, my "lifetime" Level and XP in TSC has reset itself back to zero! All my completed scenarios (since the last time those reset) are still shown as ticked or starred, but where has my overall game progress gone and how can I recover it?
Ooof.. I'd be absolutely devastated if that was me.... And if I cared about points and levels and such... Which I don't... I just like driving trains not looking at accumulated numbers. Sounds like your PlayerProfile has corrupted and I'm assuming you play offline too? If not it might just be a temporary server glitch Steams end. Try putting in a backup copy of your PlayerProfiles.bin first of all see if that fixes it maybe?
Oh it’s not the end of the world but it is a reflection of how long and how much you’ve been playing the game. PC is always online and Steam active when I’m playing. There was no message on Steam about the Cloud etc being out of synch. Will check later see if it’s come back.
Problem solved! I had disabled Steam overlay as I had read in the TSW section that could improve performance though I would also try that with TSC. Switched it back on and all my scores etc. have now reappeared. Seems a bit od though that what should be internal record keeping within the sim is tied to Steam.
Cloud saves are designed to stop people cooking their stats. If you'll notice from my first post I'd already hinted to Steam being offline. Glad you got it sorted out.
