Good gosh that dash 8W looks smoking hot, but what happened to YN3 and YN3b?

Very, very few CSX C40-8s have been painted into the YN3/YN3b paint schemes.

I’ve seen many painted in Yn3/Yn3b

it could be possible they were AC4400CWs but I’m pretty sure they were C40-8Ws

Yeah, I'm not saying none were painted that way, but I have never seen one in anything other then the YN2 scheme. I saw a C44-9W in YN3b a few months ago, but that was a Dash 9, not a Dash 8.

Loco DLC from DTG only ever comes with one livery so that’s the reason the others aren’t included. The only reason the other locos in Sand Patch Grade have more than one livery is because it is an updated version of the first route they made and at that time they gave those locos more liveries. The only other loco to get two liveries was the Class 66 in Great Western Express, their second route, and the only one in a loco DLC was the Class 40 in the Heavy Freight pack for Northern Transpennine, which only had one livery but two styles of headcode on the front to choose from.

An edit to my last post...
I have seen one C40-8W in something other than YN2

The YN2 liveries were an update to the original SPG route. They were added a few months after the game first came out. Not long after GWE was released iirc.

I didn’t know that. They’ve not done that for anything else since though? Some things do come out with a bare minimum of content these days, especially loco DLC. I’m not that bothered by having just one livery as long as the playable content is sufficient and it all works. It doesn’t look like there will be any added timetable services included. Less things to go wrong I suppose :D
