I didn't know what prefix to use, since it is a game issue. I wouldn't call it a feature, as that to me is a new shiny thing for game play. What this needs is a new thing to handle their own internal problem

    To Dovetail,

I've been playing since TSW3, on PlayStation. And each iteration, the add-on situation just got worse and worse. First it was maxing out the number of add-ons the consoles could even handle. Then it was the PS5 always downloading BOTH the PS4 and PS5 versions of add-ons, etc. Got to the point that the advice was not to use the store at all, and instead, wipe everything prior to a new version, install it, then go into the game and tell the game what content to download, and it would know which to grab.

Now for TSW6, I hadn't gone through that process yet, but I heard there was a sale on some content, so went into the store to check it out. I soon began to notice that the majority of the content I already own was listed as buyable. For a price. Not free. What!?

I eventually stumbled upon a post that seems to indicate that we, the customer, have to go to the PS store and download (cancel) each and every add-on - by game version - up until TSW5, so that TSW6 will then know which add-ons to use?

No. Just no. I'm done. It just crossed the threshold of being far too much trouble than what I get from the game.

You wrote each of these iterations. That means that you have the logic (coding) necessary for each version of the game to know what add-ons it supports and the API to the store to know if we own it. You also know the name of each and every add-on available. That means it should be on YOU to put the code in place, in each version of the game, to cycle through every previous version's set of add-ons, to eventually arrive at the final list that is displayed in the in-game UI as "Available for Download." That task should NOT be put on us, the customers.

I realize this is 90% rant. But this has been an ongoing - and worsening - issue with each and every iteration of the game. And each time, you whine about how hard it is. I no longer care. I am also a developer (not game) and that's YOUR JOB to figure out how to handle that. If it gets worse with every version, that is STILL on you because YOU are the ones who insist on creating a new version instead of expanding or patching the original, because it gets you more "visibility" (ie money). Well go EARN that money and fix this add-on problem that you created.
