Yeah the cab textures and cab functionality is where the Class 47 really needs an update.

Currently Working on my 1st actual scenario, which depicts an Amtrak Coast Starlight Detour (Train #14, the northbound one) over Tehachapi Pass.

    Screenshot_Tehachapi Pass_35.20284--118.53374_13-20-17.jpg

The SD one that I'm working on currently only has 4 requirements ATM
    -Tehachapi
    -Montana Hi-Line
    -Sherman Hill
    -Amtrak P42DC EB Pack

The HD one will feature more for a more realistic rollingstock variety.

Recent test of the SD version seem fine, hopefully to get it on the workshop soon.

Cab functionality is a huge amount of work making custom animations etc and a lot of scripting thereafter, it isn't really in my areas of capability.

They do come with newer simulation and exhaust particle effects that are script controlled also. I'm looking into what can be done for improving the cab textures in terms of a better resolution to be using them with.

Thanks for the reply. I know it is a lot of work, please don't treat my previous post as me making some sort of a demand on you, or criticism of your work.

It was simply an off the cuff statement of mine that one of the areas where the older dlcs like the 47 stand out from the more recent products is the cab.

I guess this counts as a "creation" as I did some asset placing and researching?
Here's my recreation of this UP publicity photo of the then-new GTEL from 1953
Of course some liberties were taken since there isn't a particularly accurate asset for the people in the original or the car

Currently working on a scenario series for the ECML North, focusing on the suburban stopping services at either end of the line, such as Chathill, Morpeth, North Berwick, Newcraighall and Dunbar. It will consist of six scenarios, and I’m planning to upload it to the workshop when it’s done.

For mainline AI on the ECML, most of the scenarios will require the ECML North: Newcastle - Edinburgh (Obviously!), Class 91, Class 220 Voyager (unfortunately no longer available, not used all that much in scenarios so the F2 trick will work fine without detracting too much from the scenario, I might make versions of the scenarios using HSTs instead) and the EWS Class 66

Various scenarios will require the 158, 156, 380 and Fife Circle based on the service the player is taking. I wanted to keep the requirements down enough, while still keeping a fairly varied experience. I’ll probably be finished in a couple of weeks or so, these will be some of the first proper scenarios I’ve uploaded to the workshop.

I’m also working on quite a few for the wonderful Nessland Lough workshop route, which is not finalised yet, but I’ll upload them when it is. I might also make a few for the JT Southwestern Expressways route when I purchase that, after all, no-one likes using default EU Asset Pack stock.

I find it ironic that one of the first things I looked at in that screenshot that isn't the actual train, is the big rig that's in full view just to the left of it, and immediately picked it out as a Kenworth W900 or T800.

Lol. That is one of the truck assets in Miami-West Palm Beach. I have a few of those trucks sitting in different places. That is one of my favorite trucks irl.

I've been spending some time in the route editor for the past couple of days. I decided to do some backdating on High Iron Simulations' Bedford Junction Branch route, and set it in the steam era. One of the biggest changes I made was at Bedford Junction Yard, where I replaced the engine shed with a full on roundhouse and steam servicing facility.

    Before:
    Screenshot_Bedford Junction Branch_40.06507--79.83045_12-01-22.jpg

    After:
    Screenshot_Steam Era Bedford Junction Branch_40.06534--79.82946_12-05-32.jpg

I doubt I'll be releasing this anytime soon though because other than this, I didn't really do much aside from the tedious task of replacing all the vehicles on the route and replacing/adding a few buildings.

Been a long while since an update - the Green Class 47 pack I shall be releasing through Vulcan Productions is finally completed! Here's a few teaser shots to whet your appetites for some mid 1960s to mid 1970s British Rail activity. 20210826013334_1.jpg 20210827004841_1.jpg 20210827005704_1.jpg 20210827010259_1.jpg

For some reason that I can't fathom, I have decided to undertake some "what-if" liveries for Class 52s surviving the chop in the 1970s. The main limitation has been that I cannot hide the number and nameplates, so I have had to work within this boundaries to make new numbers and names on them.

First I did Virgin Trains CrossCountry livery received_378898307060750.jpeg

I have done a selection of 20, used the TOPS number they would have had and just replaced the word WESTERN with VIRGIN on the name itself and used a GWR-style font.

Then I did the early incarnation of Network Southeast for use out of Paddington or Waterloo stations.
    received_254650796521495.jpeg

These are another, different 20, with names after counties or cities served by the NSE network.

As to the marker lights and high beam lights, I surmised they would have gained both had they survived - along with the necessity for ETS which I've also modelled mounted on the nose/drawbar

A UP local freight glides through the night as a passenger train awaits the first duty of the day.

Taken on my new upcoming 'GWC&S route' project.

Is it just me or does NSE livery really suit them? If it does its a testament to how well you've modelled it.

Another hole being plugged by me will be surrounding Class 121 DMUs. As well as the familiar single car units far less are aware of the single cab DTS vehicles built to operate with them for extra capacity. The DTS vehicles are almost identical visually to th Class 117 DMS with the exception of an engine and exhaust pipes - thankfully DTG didn't merge the nodes from IHH days so I've been able to script off these items and have removed audio and exhaust child objects to complete the job. The reskin and child objects of the Vulcan Productions Class 117/8 are reused and referenced to save pointless duplication.

    FB_IMG_1632737978539.jpg

Here is the DTS vehicle, you can see that in order to be fully visually compatible I have to reskin the Blue/Grey 121, and below is an almost complete reskin with associated child objects.

    FB_IMG_1632724379117.jpg

The child objects allow realistic sized BR logo, correct font and positioned numbers, a load decal for the luggage van and the reskin colour matches the DTS and 117/8 along with removing the red bufferbeam and the black surround and window frames on the front of the driving cab.

Well, a few months ago I mentioned that I was working on a scenario series for the ECML North. Due to multiple reasons, I haven’t really found time to work on that, but since I had some free time today I thought I’d put together the first one, which is now up on workshop. It’s a short run from Newcraighall to Edinburgh Waverley in a 158, but with enough stops, AI and adverse signals to keep things interesting. Requires ECML North, Fife Circle and Class 380 (which also comes with Glasgow Airport Rail Link). The 380 isn’t entirely essential.
