Just as the title said, i wanted to start this thread as a way of seeing what you guy’s favorite scene/depiction of a train in a video game is, for me its probably this one cutscene from Grim Fandango where we see the punishment for selling Number Nine tickets That game is available on Game pass and its a fun story,
I have to say, I absolutely loved the "With a Little Help From My Friends" job in CP77. Getting the train up and running is satisfying, then driving alongside it, using it to block the convoy, it felt nice.
Interesting one. The only one I can remember off the top of my head is from a game I've never played. Here's a Google image: Mario Kart 64: Kalimari Desert.
This. I lost track of how many times the joypad nearly went through the monitor trying to nail that mission. Got it eventually but one of the frustrations of the GTA games was that you had to succeed at each mission to move forward, there was never an alternative path to move forward. For myself, every time I encounter a train in ATS or ETS2, I want to jump off my truck and drive that instead!
Nope that’s GTA V when you highjack a train by jumping on it with a motocross with Trevor, that was one sick mission
First one that comes to mind is the train level in the Quantum of Solace video game (even though the scene the level is based on is from Casino Royale). It's one of the best levels in the game, very varied. You start just by quietly walking amongst passengers, seeing them in their compartments, then you climb up onto the roof into a violent storm, drop down into the buffet car and start shooting baddies. The rest of the level is excellent. At one point a freight train pulls up alongside and matches your speed so you jump over to it and start shooting at enemies that are on the train you were just on. You even uncouple one of the wagons to leave some of them behind. You go back onto the roof of the passenger train and keep having to duck under signal gantries. Fantastic level.
