    Hey everybody

Does anyone know how to install the Zurich - Olten DLC, I thought it would be for the TSC, I bought it at SimTrain.ch

Does anybody have an instruction to install it?

Unpack the zip and double click on the installer exe.

It certainly is for TSC. Good route.

There is an extension Olten - Bern in the works.

My only gripes with the route is that the vegetation could be a lot nicer, and that the tracks really flickers. Fortunately i was given a patch that changed the tracks.

Flickering tracks are most likely the result of missing mipmaps in the textures (BMG Welsh Marches is another example, I've fixed the according textures myself and removed the flickering, also East Midlands Coal has one flickering trackbed texture that was easy to repair..

Some fools advised to save on disk space by omitting MipMaps, needing the GPU to do scaling calculations at runtime, which should be better done at texture creation level, as graphic processor software does that much better and only has to calculate it once per texture.

Getting OT… Spikee1975 I wonder if the same is the case for all the flickering stuff on RSSLO routes. Roofs on houses etc….

Give me an example with route coordinates (by locating such a house and entering World Editor).

(Not to be confused with distant Z-fighting which cannot be countered)

I have it on all RSSLO routes. Think i’ll record a video later in the day, much easier to see than for me to explain. That ok with you? It’s been driving me bonkers.

    What is the distant-z thing?

Z-fighting is this, coordinate distance of the z plane is too small at a certain distance and rounding errors decide which plane has priority, hence "fighting".

For RSSLO issues, make a video but make sure I don't have to find out the location myself :)

Thanks for the explanation! Pretty sure we are talking about z plane fighting on rsslo routes then. This is exactly what i see all the time on them.

You bought the ancient version for Microsoft Trainsimulator. (MSTS)

That’s actually an entirely different game, which was closed down many years ago. Surprised anything is still on sale for that.

Write to Simtrain, explain the situation and ask for a refund, and then buy the correct version afterwards.
