calm down guys, it will be ready when it is ready, we have more than enough content to play in this game and I am sure also in other games, we can wait ... I am looking forward to it, definitely... in the meantime, I will be blasting down WCML routes and other stuff, also looking forward to Trent Valley...

 

You can add Medway Valley to that. I already liked the concept of it, and the preview we got a few weeks ago added to the excitement. Probably still a few months out though...

 

I get both sides in this one. Knowing the TSW community, why would you say "some time in February" with a week to go and not expect everyone to be consistently asking when?

You've released a coming soon article and then done a preview stream, why wouldn't the community be on this asking when those are the biggest signs something is imminent?

Its just a bit of a strange one IMO lol. Again I'm not particularly fussed either way I just think it's weird how they've gone about this one.

The only people who are guilty of giving an exact release date was the DTG forum members who had managed to come up with a release date themselves.

I know the stream said February, which at the time of release still had 9 days off it left, but there was nothing firm or concrete from that.

If it’s delayed to add a bit more polish to it, then great! As the main complaint we see on this forum is that every DLC is “rushed”, so it’s hardly the end of the world.

But because of the usual hyperbole on behalf of the forum members, all it will mean is DTG are a lot more careful with release dates in future and less transparency, you can thank yourselves for that!

So tell me how differently should I interpret those sentences?

 

that they are trying to make the "deadline", but it is probably still under heavy testing, so they are not sure they will make the February estimate

 

I don't mind if it is delayed, but if they said about February, then they should correct that and inform that is no longer true. I don't expect anything more that.

 

I sent the link to the preview specifically to show, that during the initial statement during the introduction, there was no mention of "hopefully February" but rather "February", then there was a joke thrown by Harry which was followed by Matt's facepalm (which was a reaction to the joke), shortly after there was the pricing mistake, at neither point was it stated to be under heavy testing, so there is some room for improvements to be made in communication.

What I want to say, if someone just wanted to know the release date and went into the stream for that, he got the answer February. And considering that at least until they started playing the game nothing else has been mentioned, it's not surprising that a February release was taken as certain.

 

100% they said February and it was said quite early on - something along the lines of that given how long is left, you can work it our for yourself, paraphrasing, but it was said. If there is a delay, then I presume we will get something tomorrow, was expecting some news today, to be honest. To my mind, the only complication is that this is a 2 part release, one is the free release of the Remaster and the other is the paid for DLC - with the timetable and the Class 171 and the new variant of Class 377 - presumably has to be on the same day so that one makes sense with the other - maybe the criticism over the Class 377 sounds (ie not the Armstrong Powerhouse ones) has had an impact, but pretty sure that it will be a patch later if it is changed.

 

Yeah, I think the "hopefully February" comment was made during the roadmap stream, definitely remember hearing the comment somewhere. However, the roadmap stream happened before the preview so not unreasonable to take that comment as some certainty it was all on track.

I think that for the remaster they don't need a lot of notice to release it, wouldn't be surprised they said tomorrow or Thursday that it'll release Friday. But for paid DLCs they usually do give a week or so, so if plan is to release both at same time then perhaps won't be Feb then.

 

When I searched for TSW6 East Coastway remastered release date, the 1st thing that shows up is this...

The East Coastway Remastered for Train Sim World 6 is set to be released on February 19, 2026. This remaster will include extensive overhauls, new lighting, scenery improvements, and updated stations and depots, bringing the route up to TSW6 standards. Existing owners of the East Coastway Add-on will receive this update completely free of charge.

I don't mind waiting, but it's a bit confusing when you see this ^ and all the ambassadors are posting videos of the remaster.

Plus the inconsistencies with the releases.... the 1st one you had to download like any other route, and it had remaster in the name. Koln Aachen just showed up and the title doesn't mention remaster.

I do appreciate the remasters though. Keep em coming.

 

I'm not sure where you received this information but the 19th was the Thursday of the preview stream.

 

You get the feeling some people are just waiting for something to get wound up about so they can have a go.

Get annoyed about things which make the game unplayable or noticeable bugs which haven't been fixed, not a free upgrade possibly being a week or so later than suggested, it is quite pathetic in my opinion if you are going to get exorcised over something like this.

There is plenty of other DLC to play with.

 

I just tried what he said. I queried Google for "TSW6 East Coastway remastered release date".
The first result was an AI generated response saying it is going to release 26th February 2026.

How did the AI get to that conclusion? No way to know!

 

Maybe the AI tool you used read these forums and all the speculation on there

 

I didnt use any special tool. I just queried Google as usual, and it now gives you an AI generated results first.

 

Ah, quite right. I usually skip that section when using Google and go straight to the 'oldskool' search results

 

Yeah that google AI result is bloody awful. Hate that it’s forced upon you.

 

And February 26 is probably right ;-)

 

The problem is too many folk taking AI-generated results as gospel. For all its advances it's still pretty flawed.

Yes, unfortunately most people do not understand how AI works.

 

When using AI, always be the human in the loop and use common sense to judge to outcomes.

But unfortunately, like Voltaire said: "common sense isn't all that common"

 

AI is really inconsistent, one moment it's helping you build a website from scratch and the next it's telling you it's healthy to eat rocks for breakfast

Yes & anyone can put anything on the internet, including AI. You need to check your sources of information are legitimate.

One problem with AI, is that if it doesn't know the answer it sometimes (depending upon the question and the system used) will try to guess or outright make up an answer in an attempt at keeping the user happy. It's sort of like having a conversation with my wife, if she asks a question and I don't know the answer she will complain at me and tell me to just guess or make something up...

Another thing with AI which I've found somewhat laughable to a degree (but then seen it's creations elsewhere and wiped the laugh away) is that according to a BBC article a few weeks back folks could upload a photo of someone and within a few clicks have naked pictures of them generated by AI, meanwhile I spent an 8 hour day at home arguing with the same AI which was refusing to modify images of Concorde as it considered it a person and unethical to do so...

Safe to say I don't think the toaster revolution is coming quite yet.

here's what I think will happen: the remaster will come out thursday or friday (based on gwe and ska remasters release days) and the new dlc will be released on the same day, because one complements the other and the remaster is somewhat part of the "marketing" for the new dlc

Thanks for telling me that anyone can put anything on the internet, cause I never knew that. I do know though that they can be very condescending. Some people enjoy doing that I guess.

"Looking at a February release" is not the same as "it definitely will be released in February", anyway. It suggests an ambition.

It hardly matters. The same people that will moan if it doesn't come in February will be the same people who will moan vociferously if it releases in February with issues, they will be saying "they should have released it when it was ready".

DTG might be questioning whether free re-masters are worth bothering with. There were many snide comments when GWE didn't release when some perceived it should, Koln-Aachen wasn't good enough and now ECW is an issue as it isn't being released in the correct lunar cycle.

If they ever decide to remaster London Commuter they will need to wear body armour!
