calm down guys, it will be ready when it is ready, we have more than enough content to play in this game and I am sure also in other games, we can wait ... I am looking forward to it, definitely... in the meantime, I will be blasting down WCML routes and other stuff, also looking forward to Trent Valley...

 

You can add Medway Valley to that. I already liked the concept of it, and the preview we got a few weeks ago added to the excitement. Probably still a few months out though...

 

I get both sides in this one. Knowing the TSW community, why would you say "some time in February" with a week to go and not expect everyone to be consistently asking when?

You've released a coming soon article and then done a preview stream, why wouldn't the community be on this asking when those are the biggest signs something is imminent?

Its just a bit of a strange one IMO lol. Again I'm not particularly fussed either way I just think it's weird how they've gone about this one.

The only people who are guilty of giving an exact release date was the DTG forum members who had managed to come up with a release date themselves.

I know the stream said February, which at the time of release still had 9 days off it left, but there was nothing firm or concrete from that.

If it’s delayed to add a bit more polish to it, then great! As the main complaint we see on this forum is that every DLC is “rushed”, so it’s hardly the end of the world.

But because of the usual hyperbole on behalf of the forum members, all it will mean is DTG are a lot more careful with release dates in future and less transparency, you can thank yourselves for that!

So tell me how differently should I interpret those sentences?

 

that they are trying to make the "deadline", but it is probably still under heavy testing, so they are not sure they will make the February estimate

 

I don't mind if it is delayed, but if they said about February, then they should correct that and inform that is no longer true. I don't expect anything more that.

 

I sent the link to the preview specifically to show, that during the initial statement during the introduction, there was no mention of "hopefully February" but rather "February", then there was a joke thrown by Harry which was followed by Matt's facepalm (which was a reaction to the joke), shortly after there was the pricing mistake, at neither point was it stated to be under heavy testing, so there is some room for improvements to be made in communication.

What I want to say, if someone just wanted to know the release date and went into the stream for that, he got the answer February. And considering that at least until they started playing the game nothing else has been mentioned, it's not surprising that a February release was taken as certain.

 

100% they said February and it was said quite early on - something along the lines of that given how long is left, you can work it our for yourself, paraphrasing, but it was said. If there is a delay, then I presume we will get something tomorrow, was expecting some news today, to be honest. To my mind, the only complication is that this is a 2 part release, one is the free release of the Remaster and the other is the paid for DLC - with the timetable and the Class 171 and the new variant of Class 377 - presumably has to be on the same day so that one makes sense with the other - maybe the criticism over the Class 377 sounds (ie not the Armstrong Powerhouse ones) has had an impact, but pretty sure that it will be a patch later if it is changed.

 

Yeah, I think the "hopefully February" comment was made during the roadmap stream, definitely remember hearing the comment somewhere. However, the roadmap stream happened before the preview so not unreasonable to take that comment as some certainty it was all on track.

I think that for the remaster they don't need a lot of notice to release it, wouldn't be surprised they said tomorrow or Thursday that it'll release Friday. But for paid DLCs they usually do give a week or so, so if plan is to release both at same time then perhaps won't be Feb then.
