Tsw6 Core Update Scheduled For Today

I remember DTG Alex clearly mentioning during the roadmap livestream that the tsw6 core update would be released today
has it been delayed or something like that? could someone from DTG please confirm?

Could the Wonders of Sodor team not deal with that?

 

Classic DTG, "Something, something...these side projects won't affect TSW at all....something something...they have their own dedicated teams...something something blah blah......we mentioned the patch delay somewhere on Discord a few days ago, we think.....blah blah something something"

 

And does that really require the entire DTG team, or what?

Sorry, but whether it’s for the base game or DLCs, you have to send updates to the platforms a few days before release anyway.
So that work has already been done.

And then you could simply have told those platforms that this TSW 6 update is still coming out today.

And just as Thomas is delaying this update, it’s guaranteed to delay work on TSW 6 in the future too, because now the new Thomas game is much more important than TSW 6.

 

He is totally right. In the roadmap update stream last week Alex said this week but there was no exactly date said.

 

What made you think it was today he never mentioned a day or date just sometime this week.

 

And they wonder why DTG avoid responding on the forums.

If thats they way you snap at them when they reply.

Good lord these.forums definitely have gone downhill in terms of showing any respect for anyone.

 

I don't want to argue, in the end it doesn't matter, but Harry said in a forum post last week that it would be Tuesday, March 17th.... but I can't find him anymore.......

To be fair, she said the plan was to release it March 17th. Sometimes things dont go as planned.

 

So it probably changed the release of the Island of Sodor with the update for TSW6

 

Just like we can't overcome texture blurring and memory leaks.......we can't do anything......

Fair to say the date everyone was expecting was not invented. Also fair to say she gave you the most accurate date she had and it seems it will be inaccurate by 1 day. Not 1 month or 1 year. Just 1 day.

 

You could quote all the messages rather than just taking two with no context. He went on to say he will check as he doesn't know where Harry got her information from.

 

DTG employee 1 not knowing where DTG employee 2 got their information from feels like an internal matter.

 

It was meant differently, that the upcoming patch for console players will not be what was originally expected, so it doesn't really matter whether it will be or not.

This situation is no longer the case with this update, but it pointed to something else.

Well it will be. I take it you've never worked in an office. Information gets misinterpreted all the time.

 

I like how all offices are a monolith in your mind, rather than the possibility of good offices where Information getting misinterpreted all the time doesn't happen.

 

What's the difference if an update that you don't even know the contents of releases today or tomorrow or the next day?
I agree that THIS is why they're so reluctant to say anything for fear of any slight change sends the nitpickers into overdrive.

Rep 1: "We plan on releasing that week."
Rep 2: "We hope to release it on Tuesday."
Rep 1: "Sorry we had to move it by one day."

Nitpicker: "YOU LIED TO US! YOU'RE TERRIBLE PEOPLE!"

Lesson learned: Communicate less and keep everything very vague to avoid criticism.

Who cares if the update arrives today or tomorrow. If they don't fix the stuttering bug introduced with the last patch it's useless anyway.

 

It's okay to be a little frustrated, but making such a mountain out of a mole hill is absolutely ridiculous. They've made a small mistake, and acknowledged it? Move on and get on with your life. The way some members of this forum are reacting is like a bunch bratty children who've had their iPad taken away.

I've got to admit I've been quite frankly disappointed overall over the last few weeks how some members of this forum have been treating members of staff and developers. Yes there's been a few hiccups and I think we can acknowledge that, but how is it affecting you to the extent of becoming really nasty and unpleasant to staff members?

I don't want to drag to much up, but I was appalled at how some people treated and completely disrespected Harry in the Class 171 and ECW Remaster thread, it was absolutely disgraceful. And now I come onto this thread and see more of this behaviour? Some of you are absolutely disgraceful and need to get some morals about treating people online. You shouldn't treat online staff members any differently to how you'd treat retail staff in person. The internet doesn't give you a get out of jail free card because your hidden behind a screen like keyboard warriors.

 

In the end I got confused, but I wasn't that wrong, I was unsure where I had read "tuesday 17th march"
I reviewed the roadmap stream in the part that talks about when we could expect the next patch for TSW6 and reviewed the roadmap article too
I was almost convinced that I had really gotten confused, maybe because today is the release of thomas game, but there you have it, this post from harry is what stuck in my mind

Don’t see the fuss over a day you have waited this long for it to be released what’s an extra day. They are probably busy with the m8 fixing that and the release of Thomas. They are himan beings and work so many hours a day. Some people really need to get out more if you can get all worked up over a patch for a piece of software.

 

Imagine this were real life and you treated people in your grocery store like some people do online.
Berating the poor cashier because the delivery truck was delayed and the potatoes came in one day late.
Threatening to not shop there any more because of "incompetence" over it.

 

There is no delay.

 

I have worked in offices for 34 years and humans are humans and err as humans do. It doesn't make them bad offices just offices staffed by human beings.

 

They really don’t help themselves do they?!

 

I have people here telling me I have never worked in an office while I am watching people using fire extinguishers to race office chairs, metaphorically speaking?

I hate to break it to you matey but sadly a lot of people act that way in grocery stores, restaurants and other places...

I'm a flight attendant for my actual job and have been since 2005, (I drive on a heritage line on the side as a hobby), and we get complained too for everything - delay due to weather, delay due to issues at airport, ran out of cheese toasties, ran out of tomato juice, diversion due to disruptive behaviour, diversion due to passenger needing CPR... The only consolation is that in my line of work we are quite protected, if things start to get close to being out of hand then said passenger is getting off the aircraft in handcuffs... I will say however that the attitude of the public at large has gotten worse, especially so since covid times with it all being "ME ME ME" and screw the other guy.

It's perfectly fine to have a little grumble, heck you should see me trying to get the train from Manchester Airport back to Wigan after a flight - there's lots of grumbling but only to myself, not the staff.

As for on here, yeah some act like they are in the 91st Chairborne Rangers...

Lets not lose focus that this is a request to get fixes to broken things at the end of the day.
