They are a bit louder than more modern stuff, but not that loud And even if they were, then the mint and red versions should be the same. Correct, I just wanted to point it out once more.
That's odd, yesterday evening I did E3365 to check if the service works properly now, and the n-Wagen sound was noticeably loud inside of the 218's cab. I can't tell if it's always been this loud and is just more noticeable now since the 111 has been fixed, or if it's a new/resurfaced issue.
So the sounds don't just naturally carry in game? They have to be programmed to generate for each locomotive individually? Or is there a sound dampener for each loco? Not sure how it can be so different and have to be tweaked on each loco separately.
Thats strange as I ran E3359 last night and I didn't have an issue! (and E3365 just now) Originally the 218 did have an issue as I'd used a different soundclass that the 218 didn't reduce the volume of, I resolved that last year as it was absolutley deafening in the cab to the point you couldn't hear the sifa. the 111 was a different story, on changing the soundclass I changed to a soundclass that should have been reduced in volume, but on the 111 a checkbox for applying to children soundclasses turns out wasn't checked so it turns out it wasn't being reduced in volume as it was child soundclass it had been changed to. Doh!
DominusEdwardius I retract my statement in shame Just did E3359 and then for comparison E3365 again, and now it sounds totally fine. Don't know what went wrong yesterday... I double checked if the doors and windows were closed, and did the same usual things as today. Very odd. But at least one less bug to worry about And thanks for all the information! It's always nice to get a small glimpse in the inner workings of the game
In effect each sound is allocated a sound class, these might be say Rolling Stock Exterior Joints, Rolling Stock Exterior Flange etc. these are in a tree with childs, so for example Rolling Stock Exterior Flange is a child of Rolling Stock Exterior Bogies, which is a child of Rolling Stock External and so on and so on. On the loco side, each locomotive has an attenuation volume, when you are inside it plays a specific mix which the developer chooses. In that mix you can choose which sound classes you want to make quieter (or louder), you can either choose individual sound classes like Rolling Stock exterior flange, or you can choose one of the parents like RollingStockExternal which then reduces the volume of all children under it by the amount set. Using the parents is a lot simpler as there are up to 10 mixes to do and a lot of soundclasses so its very easy to make a mistake. This however requries a checkbox to be checked on the mix to apply to children, unfortunatley the 111 for whatever reason didn't have it set on RollingStockExternal. This meant that it didn't apply to any of the sound classes under it such as rolling stock external running... which is why the 111 was deafening because the sounds weren't being reduced in volume as intended.
That was very informative. Thank you for sharing. One last question.... how does the interaction with he route itself work? For example how does the train know to make more noise when going over a switch, and is that individual by each piece of stock? Is there a different sound triggered from the route itself like ambient bird or passenger sounds, or does it trigger a specific sound on each piece of rolling stock just by rolling over it?
I'm not 100% sure on how specifcally the railjoints are triggered code wise, I think each axle looks for rail joints and so will detect the railjoints as it passes over and play the sound correspondingly. Every axle looks for the joints, but will only play audio if specified to do so. Rail joints are actual physical things on the track either placed manually or every set distance by the route author. Rail joint sound is specific to the loco/vehicle, not a property of the route.
I checked that on wednesday after the patch got out, they are accessible, show prompts and work now. At least on PC/Steam.
Worked on Series X as well. Quite pleased with the patch actually. I would say that it probably took too long to get it however.
They are way to loud since release actually. I mean its old rolling stock but i didn't made your ears bleed when they passed by. The Sounds themselves are okay but another case of badly tuned sounds imo.
I'll check it out on PS5 and report back when I did. This was my biggest gripe with the enire DLC besides the empty freight trains.
When using the 84 timetable why does 110 and bnrdzf have so few jobs. The timetable feels really empty like its missing a lot of services.
Just checked and happy to report that the P/G valve is finally accessible in my game (PS5) and the freight trains loaded. Now I can actually start enjoying the 194
If I counted right, the 110 has 58 services and the Bnrdzf cab car has 40. I'd say that's pretty substantial. Did a 110 service myself just this morning... always a joy
I thought be the same amount as the 97 timetable both have a 100 plus jobs. Also the wipers still dont the screen correctly.
In the 1984 timetable, the 111 takes over most of the express trains and the 194 handles all the freight. Also, some of the regional trains don't use a cab car, so there are more loco-forward services and less cab car usage overall. In the 1997 timetable, this was all burdened upon the 110 and the cab car, hence why they got many more services there.
Still a little disappointed that the E94 only gets a couple of services. Also noticed that the passenger jobs dont display arrival times.
Also noticed that the destination board is blank even after you set the destination. Goes blank after a few minutes. When driving bnrdzf you still have to go to the loco and the rear a turn on tail lights.
Actually the DBBR140 could, with an adequate paint, take over freight and passenger services and when the UIC-X coaches come in Blue-Beige they could, too. That would add so much more realism to the 1984 and 1997 timetable. Kind regards.
I think that's a labelling error. The service goes to track no 204 at Bingerbrück, which is on the branch towards Bad Kreuznach. Sadly, that branch isn't part of the route, so there can't be a part 2 That's also the reason why it's been done by a 218 and not a 194, since the branch to Bad Kreuznach wasn't (and still isn't) electrified.
Yea i like 110 as well i think I like the cream and green version better. Seems better quality to me. Sorry to pick your brain what services in the 110 are the stoppers there is only one that says local stopper. The rest have different names for the journeys. Thanks
There's a cream and green version of the 110? Where? I'm pretty sure there has never been a cream/green 110 IRL... And how is it better quality? Which timetable do you mean? In the 1984 timetable, you have to look for the services with the numbers starting with 75. And in the 1997 timetable, the services labelled RB basically stop everywhere.
I was ment to say cream and blue sorry and the 84 timetable i was referring to and thanks for help with dlc i appreciate it and all the info you have given me. It just like it drives better then the red 110 thats all im saying but still both solid locos my favourite older loco.
Hi mate sorry to keep bothering you but you are very helpful to me. On the 84 timetable on 110 timetable there is only one job that starts with 75. What are the other jobs that stop at the main stations. Thanks again.
No bother at all, I'm here to help Only one service? There should be more. Just checked my timetable: There are three services with the 110 which cover the whole route, 7520, 7530 and 7536. Most of those regional services were split at Bingerbrück at the time, so there's a bunch more services going from Koblenz to Bingerbrück or Mainz to Bingerbrück. All of those start with a 75-number.
Thanks I found them. in the 111 timetable is it the same cause i can only find one that says local stopper all the others just say the name of the journey eg fernexpress. Also how many services do get with the 628. What length are they.
Well, in this timetable, the workload has been split like this: 110 does regional and commuter trains (the ones with only a number), and a small amount of express trains (E and a number). 111 does the express trains (E and a number) as well as long-distance express trains (D or FD and a number). 103 does the high-end stuff (ICs and the TEE 7). The 628 are only a sideshow (33 services) here, mostly doing shunting stuff at Bingerbrück or milk runs between Mainz and Ingelheim or Gau-Algesheim. As much as I love them, but they shouldn't be in this timetable to begin with, since they weren't even built at this time. I'd have preferred the 218 doing these services with silver n-Wagen and Umbauwagen. Would have given those a bit more spotlight too.
That would have been nifty. Don't get me wrong, the '84 timetable in general is a massive improvement but the presence of mint green (and thereby also the 628) does still annoy me a bit. Don't want to restart that debate, it's been discussed to death before and at release. Be that as it may, I just enjoy the timetable for what it does well - it's a nice artistic impression of the Bundesbahn era that takes some liberties but gets the feeling right. I do think the liberties should have perhaps been extended a bit to make more use of the Umbauwagen. I'd love to do more with them but sadly, they are only set dressing and in a couple of services.
Thanks for that info one other on the 111 why is the brakes always on 29 even tho all are released see picture thanks.
Agreed on both things. The '84 timetable ('87 in my mind ) does a great job as it is, and is very much superior to the 1997 timetable. The Umbauwagen are very underused, and so is the cream/blue 218 (or rather the 218 in general). Hope we will see more Umbauwagen action on Neckartalbahn Honestly I don't know, since I don't use the big HUD. On the cab itself, the gauges look just fine.
I thought looked fine its the same on the salzburg and mannheim version. Stuggart version shows zero. Could some kind of bug. Thanks all your help really loving this route.
So I've come to notice that at the Ludwigsbahn Route the museum at the station Neustadt Hbf is nowhere to be seen. I remember it being there at least before this DLC released. Has anybody got the same problem? I've tried reinstalling both this pack and Ludwigsbahn itself, no change. Too bad as this is one of the key features of Neustadt Hbf (and wasn't the E94 supposed to sit in the hall as well?). Anybody else?
It’s because the brake lever in the opposite cab is at position 1 and not release. I always jump out, walk to the other cab, set the brake to release, then walk back to the driving cab before starting. It’s a pain because there is a stepping down and stepping up animation when exiting and entering the cab so it takes a while but it does mean I can see when I’ve released the brake during the service.
