I'm saying something else. Because i come across this more and more when people saying AI but actually talking about simple algorithms like the scattering of assets, or automatic placement of assets. That's not AI. Also lots of other things that are called AI all over is often just a running Algorithm. It is AI when it needs a prompt and does what ever it does in real time after you sent your prompt to it. Anything else, like DLSS and such things, are not really AI running on your PC or in the Cloud. That is just resulting algorithms that might be trained by using AI, but don't need to have to do anything with AI at all mostly.
I mean, I don't really consider LLMs and their ilk to be an appropriate use of "AI". That was entirely a branding decision by marketing people, not actual experts in fields like machine learning and the like... You can literally look at the terms their own developers were using prior to the venture capitalists investing heavily in them to push something to market, for a while they even tried resurrecting the 80s "Expert Systems" branding, before settling on "AI" as the buzzword.
There's also the fashion that consists to use the word 'algorithm' when one is talking about a computer program. That looks good.
The amount of times someone has said social media sites should "do away with algorithms" and I have had to explain a chronological feed, or one which selectively presents posts only from your friends list is still an algorithm. It is a sequence of instructions. Algorithms underpin everything that makes computers functionally useful.
I mean, considering we live in a world where there are people willing to have a moral panic over the teaching of arabic numerals to children, clearly a sinister plot by Al-Gebra.....
