Could you also explain what you had to enable in the Windows settings?

Because I think that might help a lot of users here too.

 

Can anyone smart enough to activate this please give us novices an idea how to do it?

 

Just make sure you navigate to the following when adding TSW in the Nvidia app TS2Protoype/Binaries/Win64

 

could you be more specific with the folder location, I can’t seem to locate it

 

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 6\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Binaries\Win64
And then you select the exe file and add it in the Nvidia App.
For me the game is stored in E Drive.

 

It said the game is not compatible? Are there any settings I need to tweak in the app itself?

 

Maybe trying verifying the game files and then try again. I did the same thing and it worked.
Idk if this will matter. But maybe trying updating the Nvidia App or the graphics driver and then try again?

Sorry, I can't give you a more detailed explanation (my English isn't good enough to go into detail). So, in theory, with this video and YouTube, you should be able to activate DLLS DAAA, x3, x4, x5, and x6, but you absolutely must have the latest version of the Nvidia app and the latest driver, which is currently 595.97. Hope this helps a little.

The game has to have Native DLSS support for this to work properly. The word "Override" is a little mis-leading, as it overrides the games built in DLSS with newer versions.

But smooth motion works great if you have a 40 series card or above.

I’ve tried verifying through Steam and it still says the game isn’t compatible. Any ideas?

 

You just have to turn smooth motion on in the nvidia app.
Just click the little triangle to the right where it says smooth motion, and select on.

 

Just a thought, have you made sure Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled within windows?
Also, Ignore the "Program does not support optimisation". This does not mean smooth motion wont work. It simply means the app cannot optimise the best settings for TSW. The smooth motion is greyed out if the program cannot use it.

Once you run the game, ust ALT + R to enable the Nvidia Overlay.
If everything has gone well, On the right hand side of the overlay, it will say SM: Active

One last thing. If you use RivaTuner/Afterburner, you will need to update, as some versions interfere with Smooth Motion.

Thanks to this Nvidia app, you can enable options even if your game isn't optimized for DLSS. Ultimately, it also depends on your settings.

DLSS and DLAA won't work unless the application you are trying to override settings has DLSS or DLAA coded into it.

The only thing that properly works with TSW is Smooth Motion on Geforce cards.

I tried DLSS and DLA with little noticeable results. But smooth motion works well.

I've still struggling with screen tearing. Im using Fast vertical sync on the nvidia app. Its got rid of almost all tearing, but every so often it does it.

Any ideas whats best?

If you use dx12 fast no longer works, it broke a long while ago. You need to set VSYNC to on for it to work.

 

I experimented with disabling HT on my i5 14600kF. And suddenly, the number of staters dropped dramatically. Or if you need HT for work, forcefully assign physical processor cores via process lasso.

 

Is there anyway of setting the lighting outside separate to the lighting when in rolling stock, let me expain...

A prefer to travel as passenger and with a lot of the stock, the tinted inside windows are just too much, it can make 11am look like 5pm in the Winter, I do alter the enviroment settings in godmode and it does increase the brightness outside, it's just too washed out whilst inside the carriage, it looks like a nuclear bomb has exploded inside. Basically I want to brighten the outside world without loss of colour whilst not effecting the brightness/colour of the inside of the carriage.

Emmy_MAN You won't regret going to SM. If you are running an NVidia 40 series, make sure you have the latest driver for it. I had to update mine first. I run a 4090.

 

My Smooth Motion doesn’t appear to be working. Does anyone else’s say this in the NVIDIA App?

 

Its the optimizations that are not supported for TSW. SM should work fine when its enabled.

 

It doesn’t show SM with Alt+R in the game?

 

Try the Nvidia overlay? (Alt-Z) There should be an option called Statistics.
Did you limit the frame rate on game?

 

Frames are unlimited

 

The way I understand it limiting your frame rate to 30 (for example) lets SM double it to 60.
That's the way I have it set up, so that I can record at "60" fps while setting the screen percentage slider to 175 in 4K.

what does it say next to SM in the top right corner when you press alt R in game?

 

It says FPS/GPU/CPU/LAT there’s no SM?

 

Only things I can think of, are your GPU drivers up to date? Did you turn on v-sync in the app? (Can't see that in your screenshot)

 

Yeah, everything is up to date and SM and V Sync is switched on in the app

 

Ok.....

You need to do the following.....

Press alt-Z
Click Statistics at the bottom left
Change Statistics view to Custom
Click View All and scroll down to the bottom of the list and click the tick box next to Smooth Motion (SM)


Then when in game when you press alt-R it will say SM top right and tell you if it is enabled.


In the TSW settings in game I have limited fps to 30fps.... But within the info alt-R shows it says FPS is 60fps so you can see SM is working that way too.

 

Adding to that. Try setting your frame rate to 30 in game, the record a minute or so in 60 fps.
If the video file is 60 fps its working.

 

Thanks, it just says N/A even though it’s on in the app? Should I re-add TSW6 to the NVIDIA app? If so, what directory/file should I add?

You need to add the actual file you use to run the game in the Nvidia app so for me it is this file.......


Once you have added that file in the Nvidia app you then enable SM.

 

Its this one, yours might be on the C drive though.
