Yes, free roaming the 90s into a timetable for a different route does open up a lot of possibilities, for example taking them over Shap with a loaded freightliner.
It would if they worked!! But you shouldn’t need to free roam them. You pay for a DLC and it should layer into any appropriate route. I appreciate the safety systems may make it inappropriate for Shap but the other routes that have been discussed it should be able to layer onto.
DRA doesn't work. Lights red but loco still draws power. Also light loco really shouldn't be limited to 75 surely?
I was thinking faster? It says 110mph in the cab and with no load it should be able to do that on the wcml to Wembley ?
It may be counterintuitive, but when a locomotive is running on its own (light engine), the ratio between the available braking force and the rolling mass is less favorable than when there are braked towed vehicles.
ISTR the maximum speed for light engine moves is limited to 75 MPH regardless of actual top speed. So ATS got that bit right.
No offence, but I do not find this statement to be particularly helpful, either. Well, my credit card worked fine on the Class 90 and, fortunately, in most countries where DTG operates, we have left the times of "caveat emptor" behind. If someone sells something that does not do what s/he says it does, it is an obligation to fix the problem. Not a grace or charity.
The blame game absolutely applies here. The customer should expect to get a working product that they have paid for. Someone somewhere along the line made a mistake, whether that is ATS or DTG or both, we'll probably never know. But someone is to blame. Having a go at the community and the customers who have parted with their money buying your product is one way to ensure they don't return.
Im sticking to my former opinion, which hasnt changed. Ats should have picked a nice route with a matching dmu/emu (also welcome in rhe 80s or 90s era). But the Class 90 is too important to just waste it as subpar product. The elephant in the room when i read all comments, at the bottom of the line the 90 and also the cl. 91 should be developped by JustTrains. Also the fact the locos have dvt compability. Thanks for botching another nice loco. While all you players rush to the store to finally buy a class 90 for tsw, be well aware this is all you get...there wont be another one.
Be patient, it seems the developers are working on fixing the situation, which isn't actually that catastrophic.
Currently running the 05xx 4M42 Gateway to Felixstowe and as far as I can remember (currently at Leighton Buzzard), I haven't seen a single 390 up or down
Thought i give the training ago but why cant it move once attached to the empty wagons . No safety systems on apply power amps jumpy so there is power . Alan Thomson can you if this can done. Or need to wait for a patch. Thanks
Im on xbox series x and trying to do the scenario rescue team are go with the class 90 and I got to the failed train coupled to it and now I cant release the air brake and ive tried re doing the scenario and just does the same thing and ive tried putting brakes into emergency then release again and tried resetting the systems but still nothing any help would be great thanks.
I am not satisfied with the product at all. But why are we waiting so long for this build to come into place or is that just a blatant lie? It is becoming a joke with these routes being released with the wrong build now and for whatever reason taking longer to release the proper build. Something needs to be sorted.
Hi All, Running on PC Steam This is a suggestion as this is a feedback thread. I have noted many of the above issues so no need to repeat. The Class 90 Speed Control does not work as in the real rail vehicle..It is unusual in that the system is intended to work to maintain a speed by using both acceleration and braking to keep to speed. In other words, the control sets a speed much like the German/Austrian AFB (roughly automatic acceleration and braking in about ten syllables). The system uses the motors to provide acceleration and braking as appropriate along with pneumatic brakes when required. - I will only mention the less than stellar implementation on some TSW trains. While this may be worked around, if we are trying to make the train as close to reality as possible, this is important. Note that in TSC, on the GEML, the Class 90/DVT does have this functionality.
Does anybody know if there has been an update for the 90?, i saw a 10 min vid talking about builds being mixed up and promising a fix either last week or this, but its now Friday and i have not seen any eveidence of an update. The guy with the beard who i assume is Alan Thompson, who normally never stops rabbiting, seems to have gone very quiet. Thankyou...
Which begs the question why, if the problem really just was the wrong build being released, it takes several weeks to release the correct build.
Another issue that came up. I built a scenario in scenario planner on the Preston-Carlisle from Preston to Carlisle single class 90 with 16 Container cars. Since this was preliminary I didn't place any additional services. I started the run then saved about a quarter way through. When I restarted the next time, I started getting a driver assist notification saying you need to turn the battery on before driving. a) I have the assist notifications turned off and b) the battery was on and the train ready to go. Not sure what is up with that.
End of the Months, what an absolute Psstake! Waiting 1+ month for an update. That is an absolute joke that is. It was never the case of the wrong build, blatantly lied to as always.
Why does it not recognise when safety systems are keeps telling me to switch dvd on i know its on but not registering as being on. Is there any extra fuses you have to switch on. Thanks 3
In the UK Light locos run as follows..... Line speed upto 60mph - Loco runs at line speed Line speed 60mph-90mph - Loco runs at 60mph limit Line speed over 90mph - Loco runs at 75mph limit.
Have the 90 issues been fixed yet? I thought it was advised that this was down to the wrong version being released rather than faulty DLC?
Will be exercising my consumer rights then and requesting a full refund from playstation. Very disappointing that it's been over 2 weeks without the correct version being sent out.
Plenty of evidence here to provide, from what I read the wrong build was pushed and over 2 weeks later a consumer release still hasn't been launched. Surely they have the proper release? With a track record of bugs being reported and not getting fixed, my opinion is that this will be ignored like the rest.
So for all scenarios (and timetable mode services) that involve light engine locomotives, it should be 60mph most of the time and not 75... The game sometimes recognizes different speed limits for different trains, which is better than what it was in TSC, but it's not perfect yet...
Yeah pretty sure it’s only TSW5 or even 6 that introduced this widescale. You’ll notice anything using restricted speed vehicles within its consist, that were added beyond TSW5 now limit the entire train to that speed. Anything older will still use track speed limits, unless it was otherwise scripted (I think TSG were one of the few going out of their way pre TSW5 to do it).
One would have expected a followup video by now detailing the progress made in fixing this given how quickly the, ‘we f####d up’ video, came out. I thought and said when, that video was released, how refreshing it was for someone to actually accept their error and how that should give a buyer confidence in the product. Seems my generosity was misplaced.
Remember when Alan Thompson used to review TSC and TSW DLC on his YouTube channel? Those videos are all probably still there, if you're curious. He wouldn't stop complaining about poor DTG releases "Not worth £12, i would only buy it on sale" Now he is the one releasing broken rubbish, it's radio silence.
I’m new to this so I’ve never heard of the guy until this came about. I’ll watch the video you’ve suggested. If they were that bothered I think they’d have issued or got the platforms to reimburse their customers until it was fixed. It’s a malaise that riddles so much around us. Nobody really cares as long as they’re getting the wonga. Some of these businesses need a Bud Lite moment to make them see that the paying customer really is the be all and end all.
___ This is a classic case of people not understanding the magnitude of releasing software without proper Quality Assurance testing. I worked in QA for a company a long time ago and sow the different approaches. We used a thorough QA process which included developing many scenarios based on possible hardware and software configurations as well a separate use models. On top of that, we had Alpha and Beta testing, sometimes more than one depending on results. Even being this thorough, it is literally impossible to find ever issue, but the results are certainly better. We merely had to put out quarterly patches and enhancements to keep things working. While this was our approach, a competitor did only minimal testing and their product saw constant patches , sometimes two or three a week. They called it "User Testing" . . . I bought the 90 even knowing it was flawed and missing features in the original. The fixes will likely be out in the next monthly release.Meanwhile, I have been building my own scenarios on the Preston-CVarlisle line. Since they haven't updated the scenario builder yet it still has the old scoring functionality, so the safety systems are not relevant for that purpose.
“likely” - it’s the hope that gets you in the end!! Look at everything else that released with problems and isn’t fixed. I doubt this will be fixed anytime soon.
On Monday, DTG Harry said "We want to get a resolution sorted, but it's likely this will miss the next patch (as it's due to be out very soon) and I don't have any other answers at this time unfortunately".
Over 3 weeks have now passed and still we haven't had the fixes put in place for the class 90, which I find really hard to believe! We were promised a fix, soon after it was released ... and nothing .. then we were promised this a week after release, which didn't happen, ... then another fix date the week after....and again nothing! ......In the video that Alan Thomson put out, he said he would be keeping people updated....but again nothing! There seems to be a trend here! It is as though it has now just been forgotten about and that's it, with other releases being made and this becomes history. For all of us who purchased it....basically tough - that's how it feels. Can someone from Dovetail or Alan Thomson please provide an update with time frames to fix and fix it properly to what I consider has been a disaster from the day it was released!. This is VERY poor customer service to people like ourselves, who have paid for a product which does not deliver. Will you please stop ignoring us and give us answers and a permanent fix.
