Hey! So I am aware that loads of people have been suggesting the Piccadilly line, I would love to see that line in tsw! If the full line route could be made that would be awesome! Heathrow terminals 2/3 4 and 5 to Cockfosters and Uxbridge. I think that’s the full route? But either way I would love to see that LU route in tsw!
It would be nice, but DTG show no sign of relenting their stance on tube/sub surface lines with many stations that require complex light baking.
Maybe that could be something that is fixed on a later date? But I would really love to see the full Piccadilly LU line in tsw. Also like with the Bakerloo line I’d love them to add crew running numbers almost like driving duties. So for example Crew Running No. 17, you could drive that running number as if it was a shift and drive it as an 8 hour shift for example and add loads of other crew running numbers so you could drive which ever duties you wanted if that makes sense?
The chances of DTG ever making another mostly underground line are basically nil. The problem is that tunnel construction in game is a massive headache. The technique involved, called lightbaking, is so insanely labor‑intensive that DTG prefers to steer clear of tunnel-heavy routes. A couple of tunnels is doable, but a full metro line just isn’t fun anymore. It’s a shame, but that’s how it is.
That would also require them to fix the save game bug, which means if you save a chained run, it loads without the timetable, objective and top LH HUD basically killing further progress. However I know what you mean, I'm currently working through G1013 on the Lincolnshire 5.0 map in OMSI 2, which takes you all over the place!
Given all the suggestions for London Underground since TSW started, I am surprised (but also not) that there hasn't been a new one. The Met has much of its line above ground and they could do so much with it and across different eras. Set it during the boom of Metro-land in the 1920s and use historic trains as this thing below. Its not like DTG would be short of resources and as far as I know, the engine in the image runs on rail tours every so often. Plus, the London Transport Museum will have anything and everything needed to make it including some creative freedom.
DTG in a nutshell sadly. I learned long ago that historic suggestions was a waste of time and I no longer suggest anything in general. Other than short posts as above.
