It happens on the Köln - Aachen Route at the second or third Railwaystation when you drive to Köln.

There's talk of this being an AMD driver issue, but it happens to me each time I play and I use Intel and Nvidia. Fingers crossed for a fix soon.

If you are using a AMD graphics card you will need to roll back your drivers following this web site

    TRAIN SIM WORLD 2 OWNERS

If you're a user with AMD hardware that is experiencing a crash on launch or during play, please roll back your AMD Drivers to 20.4. You can download the driver from https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-20-4-2. Unreal Engine 4 is currently not compatible with newer or beta drivers.

    Hi Guys,

For both AMD and NVIDIA, please ensure you are using the latest WHQL signed drivers. For AMD you should be on version 20.4.2 (WinVer 26.20.15029.27017). For Nvidia you should be using version 452.06 (WinVer 27.21.14.5206).

If you're not sure how to check the version of the drivers you have installed, here's some instructions:
    1. Press Win + R (Win = Windows key) then type dxdiag and press Enter.
    2. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool will load, click Display or Display 1 if you have multiple monitors.
    3. On the right, it says Drivers, look for Version and note the version number. If the first 3 digits are higher than listed in the above WinVer, you need to roll back to an older driver.
    4. For NVIDIA Owners, alongside the version you also need to ensure the Date is newer than April 2019.
If you're not sure how to roll back, the process is simple:

    For AMD (Windows 10):
    1. Press Win+R then type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
    2. In Device Manager, locate and expand the Display Adaptors section.
    3. Right-click on the Display Device (it'll probably say something like AMD Radeon RX 5000 Series or something similar) and select Properties.
    4. Click the Driver Tab in the Properties Dialog and click Roll Back Driver.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    For NVIDIA (Windows 10):
    1. Go to Nvidia's Driver Site and download the 452.06 WHQL driver for your device, assuming of course you have either a GTX 6, 7, 9, 10, 16 or RTX 20 series GPU.
    2. Once downloaded, double-click to begin the installation process.
    3. When presented with the Installation Options screen, select Custom and click Next.
    4. For the Custom Installation options, ensure all components are selected and ensure Perform a Clean Installation is checked.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.
    For Both AMD and NVIDIA:

Restart your computer if you've had to roll back or install new drivers!

If you still cannot get going with TSW2, even after doing this. It would be useful for you to drop a ticket in to Support so we can do some further checks but, more importantly, so we can get it properly recorded for deeper investigation. Please, when submitting a ticket, advise them you've followed these instructions to avoid us repeating these same steps.

    Hope this helps.

    Best, Steve

Checked this out using dxdiag as advised.

Driver date is July 2019, past April as advised.

What was the driver version though? Sorry if that wasn't clear but Nvidia needs to do both checks against version AND date.

On the Nvidia site: Driver Version: 452.06 - Release Date: 2020 August 17

    July 2019 is irrelevant then.

I'll get back with the results.

    Hi dunkrez,

Yes, 452.06 are the latest but, some have and are using drivers from after April 2019 which appear to be working fine. As you've found out, that's not the case for everyone so, it's worth checking both.

I've updated the drivers, just testing TS2020 to make sure that the new drivers haven't nobbled that first, as that's the priority.

I'll test the Bakerloo on 'W2 after that and let you know.

The drivers are fully updated. I tested TS2020 for a good 45 minutes too, no problems to report there except a lack of investment overhauling the engine it uses.

Honestly, I'd rather work with you at fixing up TS2020.

I'll drop a support ticket in at some point today, I have a screen capture video of the crash happening in realtime too.

I'd honestly much rather spend months helping DTG upgrade TS than work out why the Unreal Engine crashes while attempting to use TSW2. I don't even want a refund.

Print this comment out and stick it on your office wall.

    [QUOTE = "TrainSim-Steve, post: 166167, membro: 250"] Olá pessoal,

    1. Pressione Win + R e digite devmgmt.msc e pressione Enter.
    2. No Gerenciador de dispositivos, localize e expanda a seção Adaptadores de vídeo.

I bought the TSW2 in anticipation of this better, but I am frustrated with this crash, I have done everything I recommend but it remains the same way impossible to play

AMD just released 20.9.1. Does anyone know if that fixed the issues? I can't keep rolling back/updating drivers to play specific games.

I tried 20.9.1 twice, no chance. 20.4.2 is the max. supported driver at the moment.

What routes did you do testing with, as the route that crashed for me was the Bakerloo Line.

I tried to force exactly these crashes but 20.9.2 is stable at any time, no issues with Bakerloo or any other released route.
TSW 2 runs nonstop 356 minutes now.

...refer to the original thread sequencer listed in his earlier note- I was working with him yesterday on this success he’s apparently having with this new driver.

He also needs to track down where the crash info is located on his pc... can someone here help him with that- need to find out if the crashes he was getting before installing the latest driver are the same crashes others are running into. His find seems promising... would be interesting to see if others resolve their UE crashes by installing this same driver.

The crashes were exactly the same posted here in post #1 & #2.

I can remember Line 198 and D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')
All these crashes happened with Adrenalin Software 20.8.1, 20.8.2 and 20.9.1.

My curiousity gave 20.9.2 a chance and it is still working without any crashes and todays session was over 280 minutes nonstop gameplay again on all three TSW 2 routes, TVL, HRR and MSB.

...super happy that things are going well for you so far- just keep banging on it and make sure it’s solid. I’d say update this thread from time to time to let everyone how you’re doing. If this continues to pan out for you and eventually for others, then your post could be the catalyst that got all of this started. Pretty exciting, huh?

So Epic just wants to give the run around and keep asking me questions, when I want to know for sure is that new drivers 20.9.2 compatible with the unreal engine. So I am going to give on them answering my question.

I'm still playing across all the routes and have a simple solution, just give it a try by yourself. :D
It's sooo super easy to roll back to previous driver at any time.

I did some Peninsula Corridor scenarios earlier with an MP36PH but not very long because i was tired.
Right now i am back at Peninsula Corridor driving an MP15DC and really enjoy it, it's an awesome loco.

Yes I have been using 20.9.2 and have had no issues with game crashing, so I can safely say that it's ok to upgrade to the latest drivers.

You are waiting too long, just update and enjoy :D
Still no single crash since 20.9.2.

    Good morning everyone,

just wanted to let you know that the new Adrenalin 20.10.1 works perfect like 20.9.2 ;)

EDIT: The latest 20.11.1 works flawless too.

Hey, I´m a Nvidia user (gtx 1070) and I recently purchased the Penninsula corridor line. In all the other routes I´ve never had any issue at all, but I haven´t been able to run this one. When trying to enter the route it automatically crashes with this report:

Already tried installing the the 452.06 WHQL driver and it didn´t solve anything. What should I do now?

    Thanks a lot.
