What could’ve happened if they ditched the original class 484 which is the old D78 stock to the DB BR 423 ?
I got about 25 it crashed right after I saved. I just got in the habit of saving after every change I make, I know it's a pain.
So... 300 layers are definitely not enough when attempting something like this. But here's CSX 3194 (I wanted to wait for a GEVO, but those are not even on the roadmap yet, so here it is) (ignore the fact game spawned two of those together, although only 1 exists) There's still a ton of things missing, logos are all simplified, but it, in the end, it turned out alright. Special thanks to the new update for colour coding and colour saving, that helped A LOT. It might potentially become downloadable (at least for PC) through the livery sharing page mentioned multiple times in this thread, it has been submitted. Might one day give CSX 911 a shot (although there's no way to make the plough and steps red...), maybe CSX 1776 later on.
BRO WHAT THE- DANG, that is some talent right there! I didn’t even know if it was even possible! And yet, u were able to complete this! Well done, well done, my friend! You deserve a compliment!
But yea it would’ve been nicer if there were GEVOS in the game, but I guess it’ll do, and I’m still stunned by how good this livery is!
Today I was doing one of the switching services on Sand Patch Grade and a train rolled past on the other track besides me, painted in the GTA San Andreas themed SD40-2 livery I made. It's kinda nice to see your repaints when you don't expect them, and they definitely give some nice variety to the routes. Makes me wonder though, how does the spawning system work? I saw many pictures here, where in a 2-loco formation only one of the locomotives is using the repaint, while the other is either has original livery or another used-made livery. And the spawning of matching pairs seem to be quite rare. Is it totally random? How realistic are these mismatched pairs anyway? I mean I saw some IRL picture where CSX locomotives are paired up with other railroads' locomotives and such, but is it rare or quite common for trains to run like that? Also what about freight cars? I'm thinking about doing some freight car repaints as well just for fun, but would they also be just scattered around in consists totally randomly?
Ok, turns out when one is done, the rest gets rather easy because most of the logos are already done at that point, so here's the whole set. CSX Pride in Service locos 911, 1776 and 3194:
It happens every once in awhile, either as run thru power, or borrowed power, but probably not as common now as say the mid 2000s. Here's a few trains I've seen with foreign power in recent times. BNSF train with a single UP unit BNSF intermodal with a pair of Norfolk Southern locos Ive also seen CP, CN, Ferromex, CSX, and KCS locos as well. Though sometimes you can get some bizarre combinations such as this photo someone else took from a few years ago. Its much more common to see foreign rolling stock for sure though, ive known ive seen boxcars from anyone such as Norfolk Southern, CSX, Canadian National to Ferromex here on the West Coast.
Leasing power to other railroads was really popular in the 90s to early 2010s. It still happens now but not nearly as much.
We got a new ICE Originally Italo trains are all Alstom AGV, so mine it's just a livery porting over 2 different models of high speed trains. Original Alstom AGV ETR 575 NTV Italo My porting livery to the Siemens BR 403 ICE3 (NTV Italo) Obviously, still a work in progress.
It’s very common in the US, at least where I live in Ohio. I’ve been out watching CSX trains and I haven’t gone one time without seeing something different, especially with the freight cars, those are always a hodgepodge of different railroads. Seeing those pictures, I just think “train”, I don’t think that it’s unusual at all. edit: Forgot to say this, but CSX actually “partners” with Union Pacific, meaning CSX and Union Pacific compete with both Norfolk Southern and BNSF. It’s very common to see CSX power on a UP train and vice versa, same with NS and BNSF. Edit:fixed the 2 edits, thought It cancelled the first one.
Well not exactly. You can take your livery and make a copy of it you then change. So I took the 3194, copied it, changed the bottom colour, bottom layers, kept the grouped logos. Sadly this only works when you work on the same type of vehicle, which wasn't a problem with this trio, but it is otherwise limiting.
An attempt at a famous East Midlands livery, work in progress I think, it's a bit too busy in some places and bare in others.
If anyone wants to have some friendly competition... https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-livery-contest.25413/page-2#post-195352
Well went from 13 liveries and hours & hours of editing to a big fat ZERO! Game crashed as usual during editing only this time when I started game back up and went to liverie editor all my creations were gone. Any help would be appreciated and I don't have an online account so I can't do cloud storage
I tried my best to get the colors and logo accurate and I thought it was good until putting it next to the in game CN engines.
Initially it was a Süwex... but now it's something else (a new scheme with insane use of new feature aka colour opacity)
Now that the colour codes are in the game, I highly recommend getting some pictures of the locos you want to make, take some internet sites to identify the colour and use that on the livery. I did so with the CSX trio couple posts above and the colours were pretty much spot on.
