Well, I gotta shamefully admit that english isn't my first language and I thought imminent meant something like "right now". I kinda thought that they were releasing it earlier as a nice little surprise. Gees, I feel really stupid right now :P

Don't feel bad. You're not wrong really. Imminent means "will occur at any moment". DTG were using the word in its looser sense meaning " soon or within a few days ".

Please do not feel bad, the roadmap was a bit misleading and yes imminent means in a very short time frame... I do not think in a week is imminent in anyone’s interpretation... and I am a native English speaker ( well I speak Texan, that is derived from English.... sort of... ).

Surely they would put the 57 into GWE if they are going to add any train to the route...yes it only does 2 trains a day...but they don't need wires to run and are part of the environs...

Or maybe the 360's? Just to pootle between PAD and Hays?

BUT if they are going to head west where the sky is blue...I am not going to complain :)

You have nothing to feel stupid about! We all have our own languages. I will shamefully admit that as an English speaker I have become lazy and apart from a very small amount of French I know no other languages, something I intend to put right one day.

I know plenty of fellow Brits as to whom you would think English wasn't their first language!

I don’t know why they are doing what they are doing, or indeed exactly what they are doing. I’ve always been under the impression, due to the fact that consoles have a reduced timetable, that GWE wouldn’t be able to handle much more adding to it and that’s why it’s never had any loco DLC up to now. I’m sure this pack is going to be a hot topic on the forum and in the live streams both before we get any more info and indeed after. If the pack as it stands only brings a couple of railtour services to GWE then I would assume that another route set in an earlier time is already in planning to make better use of the pack in the future. We have seen loco DLC with very limited use come out before though so anything is possible.

I just wouldn’t think they would bring out a second Class 52 that also has as little use as the first one, even if the pack has more physical content when, as you say, there are other never seen before locos that could be released.

If they are going to do "rail tours" surely they could port over the same settings for ECW?

Anyway, I am sure DGT are going to continue to take my money every couple of months next year as they have done this...

There is no point repeating trains for the sake of it. So maybe just maybe they will put the sleeper carriages on with a 57, and we can all try to get some shut eye before Reading...oh I do that with the 43 anyway :)

Don't expect "porting" to work as each DLC is a standalone separate product with it's own setup.

Well, it reduces dev time :)

I look forward to every roadmap however I can honestly say this is the first I have seen and been amazed.

Lots of upcoming content, lots of fixes and patches and they are bringing the livery designer to preserved which people wanted.

Overall everything looks better and better every 2 weeks with this game

Apparently Sam is going to add one of the three projects he is working on to the next roadmap so that should be a nice surprise.

I just want to repeat my comment to the roadmap. The speed for bug fixing is still far to low. If you can fix the major bugs for one DLC during each roadmap update, it will take another six months to fix the major issues. Besides, I see not enough progress in all big plans:

    - No progress for the scenario planner
    - External controls API progress is very slow (six months of work and not yet in beta)
    - Let's not talk bout steam engines
    - Updated passenger system, just talking
    - Sound, just starting the work
    - Download size, no visible progress, even though this should be very urgent because it blocks a lot of other progress
    - Game performance, layers for consoles, no progress visible

But, to be honest some things are happening:
    - Mastery (but six months development time)
    - Passenger information systems, we see some nice progress there

I still believe that DTG needs to change two things:

    - Less bugs in new DLC. Issues that can be solved easily during development take a much larger effort after release for a number of reasons..
    - Less talking, maybe less topics to think about and more action.

The scenario planner is a bad example of what is happening. It was sold as a first step to find out what we need. Now we are half a year on and nothing happens. It feels like a quick and dirty solution to the tremendous and justifiable criticism for the lack of a content editor. What is created now has serious design flaws and it seems nobody took the trouble to learn from experience with TSxxxx. This is sad but also annoying.

I am happy with the roadmap, because it makes clear what we can expect but there still is to much talk on things not at the roadmap, but hanging somewhere above us, without coming.

Most of the stuff you've stated comes under DLC fixes which has been dealt with on the roadmap streams extensively.
Yes, things may not be moving as fast as people may like but there IS movement which is better than it used to be. Hopefully now the preserved collection is out Adam's team can go back and fix the bugs that are there, work on sound and PIS etc and the core team can work on the remainder

The scenario designer is very limited on what we can do. I think they should probably walk the walk if they keep talking the talk. I also agree that they should sort out major bugs or issues in development instead of releasing products that have bugs that are clear as day and it is annoying that it takes so long to fix such minor issues

DTG Natster Can you explain why this is on the roadmap:
    • [Improvement] Add Safety System Indicators to the HUD
I thought they were already on the HUD.

    What is the Track-IR support?

Also considering the BR pack this might be a way to get rid of the damn layers as you could create multiple timetables based on the number of DLCs you have. This could probably save a lot of power on consoles if it works the way I imagine. One thing I am kind of sceptical about is the fact the route probably won't change, so we'll be running 70s trains on a modern route.

Head tracking hardware, means the view and PoV on screen can be controlled by the player moving their head rather than needing to drag it around with the mouse

Or it could make the console issues worse...
The layers add additional consist types and movements, if the pack has two locos with rakes and four multiple unit types then I would imagine that's going to be three layers, which may or may not be playable on base console hardware

But... the monitor won't be moving with the head... o...k... useful addition.
That's a good point, I guess we'll see closer to the release.

It's mainly for multi monitor setups..
Some setups have two or three monitors, and if you're trying to access a control on the far left you would currently have to drag the screen over and then access the control, with Track_IR you would look to the left, the view on screen would track your movement and then you can access the control.

"Multiple Timetable Support" is this FINALLY what will allow us to use thos BR locos everywhere (similar to an "off the rails mode") and does this means that finally loco DLCs won't be tied to any particular route?

I would read it as an alternative timetable rather than an anything goes one. So you either have the 70s collection on a 70s style timetable or the 2015 collection on a 2015 style timetable

Only that we're not in full posession of the facts, so I would wait before jumping to conclusions (either to avoid disappointment or jumping straight into the brick wall of truth)

Well let's face it... It's highly unlikely that they'll update the scenery to match the era, plus they'll most likely reuse some of the locos we already have. Best case scenario is we get new wagons...

Low effort DLC at its finest!

Update the scenery ? Nah I don’t think so either and I think they said if they have to upgrade a route they rebuilt it from scratch like GWE fully electrified they’ll do a new one instead of adding contents

That's why I have asked. Given there's nearly zero chance the scenery will change accordingly I completely miss the point of this DLC.

Does anyone know what the "Isle of Wight additional fixes" include exactly? I know the timetable has been updated in the last patch, but there are no further details this time.

I think I've completely missed the point of this DLC?

Screenshot_20201216_165330.jpg The Class 52 is shown on the latest Roadmap as "In Production" for upgrade Livery Editor compatibility. So IF you want the 'Western' in 1970's era BR Blue it should be possible to create it yourself? As for the talk of it being along a similar vein to the ECW "Heritage Railtour" as it will be supposedly (?) utilising the route assets associated with 2015, this doesn't offer much incentive to purchase as it should in theory(!) be possible to create something in Scenario Planner WITHOUT the restrictions of it being a structured scenario set with to a predefined time and weather?

I mean, we have the Western Maryland Pack for the CSX Hanover Subdivision in TS20xx and that was a pretty popular move, even though the route was still set in the modern times.

I don't see a problem with vintage packs for modern routes, as long as the packs are good.
